Been making extra payments for a few months now to achieve this. My wife is going to get me a new air frame for Xmas (probably yet another 48") I really love this plane. Both orange ones have many busted stringers and formers behind the canopy. The blue needs a piece of covering, a motor box and wing plates (fuselage side pieces). I have discovered that I like fixing balsa planes and it is much easier to do than I first thought.
Get a 57" Extra. Trust me on this. Best freakin' plane for the money!!

Ok I need to join this thread now I guess. Haha. First foray into full balsa. Pretty sure I made the right choice stepping up from a 3dhs 40 EPP edge. A most excellent deal was struck for a blue one of these a short time ago. Lol.

Would the addition of SFG's hurt or help the 48" Edge? I know that they are included on the other sizes of Edge...I have sketched up a set. thinking about trying them.

Also thinking about a carbon fiber gear mod...

My opinion is that if they were needed, they would have been included....but then I never use SFG's...

I just squeezed in a couple of flights on my Edge. This plane is so smooth and stable. The weather here is beautiful today so I put in three quick batteries as the sun was setting.

My larger planes are spoiling me on rollers but I got back in the groove by the second battery pack. I thought about running back inside to get my camera but I didn't want to waste precious daylight!
