Easy glider power set-up
I am trying to get a power configuration for an Easy Glider based on my motor and would really appreciate some help.
Plane: Easy Glider
Motor: AXI 2808/20
I plan to buy a 40a ESC.
I'm trying to determine what Lipo or Nimh pack to use and what folding prop but the motor calcs are confusing me.
Could someone give me some advice?
At 1490 Kv that motor is on the high side of what would typically be used in a glider this size turning a typical size prop of at least 10".
2S (2200-3000 mAh) and a 10 x 6 prop should give you about 800g static thrust at about 18A/120W. That's heaps for an EG, and about what Multiplex' standard EG Pro power system runs at. Lots of people run much more power, but you don't NEED to. Mine climbs fine on 90W.
You do not want to use 3S on that motor. You'd have to go down to an 8" prop to keep current within limits, and even with 8x4 (if that's an available size), pitch speed would be on the high side for the relatively slow speed climb of the EG.
