I thought this video was kinda interesting. Vid camera fell from plane while recording. Got very lucky and found the tiny camera in huge field. While falling to the ground the camera just happened to be tumbling oriented so that it was "seeing" the plane (every other frame) as it flew away. Note the ant crawling under the camera after it settles on the ground. Hope you enjoy. BTW, I highly recommend this camera for price, performance AND DURABILITY!

Nice, I liked the first attempt at take off too! I heard Led Zeppelin so I assume you fixed the audio?

Youtube disbaled your audio? Go here and get it back!! I've done this everytime and it always works and have never had a problem.

Thanks! I don't know what is going on with the audio on that one, it still says audio disabled in "my videos" but when you click on the link from here it has music... anyway, thanks for the link. I went ahead and disputed that one just in case.

Very cool! I can't hear any video either. I've noticed that with youtube, I had one video they said there was an issue, but not to worry and it would play anyway. Some could hear it and some couldn't. That prompted me to open a vimeo acct and now I put my better videos on there.

That's quite the launching system, never seen that before!

Yes, that was a complete loss of control. I am running a Thunderbird 54 esc and while I am only pushing 36 amps it still got way too hot being buried in the foam and glued in with hot glue. When I opened her up the ESC had melted a bit but not burned. The plane is EPP with carbon fiber spars so it should be easily reparable, some boiling water and new spars and I should be good. Motor mount broke off, camera mount partially came off but assuming the servos and motor are still good I should be back up before too long.

I have had a Vimeo account and that is all I used before, now that Youtube doesn't consistently steal my music and Vimeo wont let me upload any of my videos because they are too large.. I just switched over to Youtube... The launching system is a bungee I ordered from FanJetsUSA with some rope, stakes and stainless rings from HomeDepot. I buried a light weight metal hook in the bottom of the plane and hook the ring on it, then I just hold the hook and walk the plane back and let go. It is only about a 10 foot bungee so it launches tit fast and in a relatively small space. I didn't have much hope for it when I saw how short the bungee is but it works fantastic and allows me to launch practically anywhere.

Lighthouse Mission

Hi all,

I just saw this thread - very nice videos, so I thought I'd share my latest video from this week.

I have made a habit of flying out to our local lighthouse 1 mile off the coast every year. This year I used a new airframe - the Aeronaut AeroMaxx made into to an UAV with autopilot, GPS and the GoPro...

Enjoy!
