DIY 3 axis Camera Gimbal for DSLR

Hey guys,

I have been making my own camera gimbal for a couple of years. I have 3-4 version made already and this is my latest. Materials is G-10 fiberglass, very strong and sturdy. The mount is design to fit with a T-rex 600 or 700 diameter tail boom, snug fit. This will fit up to a Canon MarkII.

I'm using a S4315R (SpringRC) servo on tilt and pan (360degree servo) specs are below.

Modulation: Analog
Torque:
4.8V: 201.4 oz-in (14.50 kg-cm)
6.0V: 213.9 oz-in (15.40 kg-cm)
Speed:
4.8V: 0.19 sec/60°
6.0V: 0.16 sec/60°

Roll servo is a Outrage HV high speed servo as a option. 80.00 more if you want the roll to be included.

Digital
Torque:
6.0V: 88.3 oz-in (6.36 kg-cm)
7.4V: 112.4 oz-in (8.09 kg-cm)
8.4V: 132.9 oz-in (9.57 kg-cm)
Speed:
6.0V: 0.07 sec/60°
7.4V: 0.06 sec/60°
8.4V: 0.05 sec/60°

The mount with the 3 servo mounted is about 600grams.

Here's a video of the gimbal in progress.

Here's some video I have capture using the older version mount.
Castle-Final.m2ts (1 min 1 sec)

CB GoPro (2 min 7 sec)

Price? 420.00 shipped without the Roll servo, 500.00 shipped with roll servo.

This looks really good. I supposed it is possible to extend the mount to include a set of skids that pan with the mount so they never come into the cameras view? If I order one of these from you, what would the delivery-time be? The Price 420 will be with everything included, so I dont need to buy anything else to make it work (except a Transmitter and a receiver of course.)

Nice. Does it come with gyros or just servos? What would it cost to ship it to norway? And how fast can you deliver?

It does not come with gyro.

USPS Priority Mail to Norway should cost about 25.00 usd (10-15days). Express mail 5-8 days (55.00 usd)

Hm. But it would work with these kind of gyros? http://cgi.ebay.com/GAUI-GUEC-GU-210...item4a9dbf8590
They are recommended for the photoship mount.

would that be hard to set up? I dont have any experience with gyros and servos.

Also, could you post a video from (not of) the mount when you control it, so I could see how smooth it moves? It looks very smooth in your first video, thou :P

It will work with any gyro... How smooth the video will depend hon how smooth the aircraft run and how well you tune it. Especially adding gyro, the set up and tuning is extremely time consuming.

I am not sure what other video are you looking for... video shown above is the movement and video capture using the mount.

Its just that I think the two last videos shows the mount without any servo movements. you are kind of just panning with your helicopter. AND I donīt see the tilt getting used. Am I right? Iīd love to see the first video from the cameras point of view.

That is great! Are you still making these to order? I have been searching high and low. If I had the skills, I would build one myself, but I don't

I am interested. Are you still selling these? I would like to mount this multicopter - could you adapt this for that?

How about some forward flight video? Fast, really fast? Most mounts I've seen fail at maintaining rigidity during FFF. Thanks
