The stock retracts were swapped after about he 5th flight. I notice a lot of slop developing in the nose gear. So far everything else is holding up very well.

Watts Up?

got a chance to fire up my twin 68 rclander dps fans on 4s. Here's what I got:

115amps
1650 watts
Temp of metal fan and housing stay at 121 F no more then that.
I was using the nano 40-90c 2 pack parrallel 4000mah each. It was the first run on those batteries.
But the 10G wires are pretty warm 150F

Figures as soon as I leave home for vacation the weather get a bunch better at home. Maybe it will hold up till I get back. I would like to get some more video of the A-10 now that's it's dialed in.

Any idea where the red and black wire goes? This for the retract.

That 2 pin Black/Red pigtail lead is not used for anything....It's the same for all the other LX jets as well that have it....just leave it disconnected.

Ok thanks Brandon! I though that I had to give it some extra power. So it doesn't drain Rx power. Gladed I ask!
Thx

If you actually put a multi-meter across the black/red outputs of it you will see a momentary 5v or so (RX power) when the retracts are activated, for a second or so, then it's stops and turns off. kind of like the smoke activation module that came with the other LX Jets like the Mig-29 and the F-22

theoretically if you hooked a smoke pod to it and activated the retract channel it would set it off for smoke trail.....

Hello Brandon,

On the other A-10 thread you said the leading edge slat pieces got ripped off on take off ? I have not installed mine yet. What are they for ? Are they just for looks ? How did you glue them ? Do they mount flush to the wing ?

thanks.....

I left mine off altogether. The plastic just was way to flimsy. They are supposed to help with low speed stall characteristics. This thing doesn't need them slows down really nice.

Mike is correct.....they are there for low speed stall prevention, and on this plane are not really needed...there for more scale appearance than anything else.

I had the glued on with foam safe CA....but apparently not enough...lol

Great thread. All A-10 and no BS. I'll post photos of my progress. I have the e-flight retracts (not installed yet) but I ordered some 514s just to compare the two. I'm still looking for struts and matching paint to touch up the fuse and wing.

Thanks Mike for starting this new thread.

E Flight retract upgrades. Made ply plates epoxied in place. Used the 26- 46 size. Probably overkill but they will not fail. So far anyway. I did have to rewire everything. No big deal.

Hey guys post your retract installs for others with intrust.

Hi Mike,

I'm about to make a purchase of the A10 but wanted to get all the right parts from the outset. Which EFlite retracts did you go for please?
