Rock the boat ...

Actually, all these not-so-far-off-topics have inspired me the last days.

I should have done a lot of stuff today in preparation of a 4 week overseas trip, instead our studio is a total mess right now .

I pulled the Yamaha out of it's dark storage room, did some measurements, and made the initial steps for the "real-life" keel and rudder (real draft of the 1st generation W60 was just 3.75m).

I am considering to make the keel part of a better looking stand, so that I can just lower the hull on it to display while not sailing.
That's got to wait till later, but the beginning is there.

There's a thread for the Rubin on here as well.....as for the internet police, well whatever makes you feel better at the end of the day.

Not to worry - just a rabbit trail- occasionally these help to keep the threads alive. Yamaha owners have other boats that are of interest. Not harmful to have a little diversity. I am sure the thread will survive. Good to see you are still out there!
How are you guys transporting your boats to the lake? Post some pictures.

For those of you who have not seen this before.
Gives a good idea of Yamaha's growing performance during the race, although she never was a match for Tokio .

Still trying to do it in style .
Made a cradle of the old box for the hull (rudder mounted, keel removed), and transport the mast with main sail attached as one piece on the rear seat.
10 minutes from arriving to sailing.

I remember those pictures of your Jag! Your boats ride in style! I may have mentioned that in my youth I had a XKE. Afraid the boat would take up all of the passenger area in that little roaster. It was great fun at the time. College days. Long gone, but a nice memory for sure.
We have a mid size sport Utility vehicle I can use when I have to travel to a lake out for range for the cart. Not nearly so nice as the Jag. The only way the boat would fit is if it was still in the box😂

Oh man, you got guts ... posting a picture of a car on this thread, and that without any Yamaha in sight
Beautiful car there, Boomer, worth a lot of model boats nowadays.

Reminds me of a ski bus trip from Phx to Telluride.

Going north on the interstate towards Flagstaff, we were passing a large flatbed truck. It was empty, except for a Tonka Dump Truck tied down on the center of the flatbed trailer. Pretty cute!

That river you sail is prohibited from RC sailing.

We usually go to this pond.
