Chris Golds latest "Scale" model, can you name it

Here is a challenge for you. This is a scale model but not in the normal sense! Can you work out what this is and why it probably should not be in scale models?

Looks like a scaled up Frog "Interceptor" so it's a scale model of a model?

That didn't take long! Spot on, a 7 x scale up of a Frog. Strangely it looks more like a real aircraft than if Chris had modelled the DH77 on which one has to suspect the Frog was based.

I should have been more careful with the photo name!

It looks somewhat like a Dewoitine D510 or D501.

Is a recent build from Gordon Whitehead's plan of the upscaled Interceptor - a mere 400% full size, which is definitely still IMAA legal. This one is from the US published plan in RCM magazine - it was published in the UK as well, but the mag is no more, I believe.

Chris's will be much larger, as he has a big van (well, by British standards ) to carry his huge models in. OTOH, Gordon's models were sized to fit fully rigged in the boot/trunk of his car!

If you mean Gordon Whitehead's :

When Chris Golds' megaInterceptor comes out, would be amazed if it wasn't in Quiet and Electric Flight International, from UK based Traplet Publications:

A Macchi Veltro, modeled in about the same relative scale conformance as the Saro A1?
Hey, you brought it up Robert.

Seriously, Chris does excellent work. The Canberra is always on the project of a lifetime list.

Just back from the maiden flight at Chivenor, It flies! The CG is a tad shy but other than that all is good, Loops rolls and a 6 turn spin first time out means Chris has got something to fly while he is building something else.

I will post photos and details later. my photo card goes for processing and QA inspection at Hideaway before I get to see them.

Google have spoilt the "name the plane" game; dragging a photo onto the search box can now be used to search the web.

Q&EFI will be getting the Interceptor but Chris is doing something for Model World.
We have also had a chat about a Meteor 6 for twin Schubi fans.

Yes they have spoiled it. Yesterday, a friend spoke a search cue into his phone/web device, and got the answer. I was not aware that technology was available on web phones. Even those who can't type can now cheat on a search.
