I only see the LED strip lights at HobbyKing- not glow wire.

Has anyone used these? I used glo wire for a while, but found that they were basically worthless at dusk. Had to wait for complete darkness to fly.

These look like LED driven fiber optics to me. Great idea that I will have to try out. Are they available from anyone else?

It's not fiber optics. It's glow wire, phosphorescent wire that lights up when AC current is applied. I have some that I bought years ago from
glowire.com. It is great.

The stuff requires AC to work, so it is sold with a driver. I bought mine with one that works on a 9-12v dc supply. I doubt you get good brightness from Rx bus voltage.

You might also be unimpressed if you find low quality glow wire or a weak driver.

Here are some pics of my Trex with about 5 feet of glow wire wrapped about the fuse. The driver was powered off of the 3 cell Lipo. Pics show accurately how it looks in use. The blade tracks are lit by in-blade LED's.

Actually, they are exactly as I thought. LED driven fiber optics. I had the LHS order me a short one to see if I liked them. I don't. Not enough light coming off the center area. All the light emits from the ends. I won't be buying more of these. I will try to get some pictures of what they look like. They would be of use if you wanted to have the lights mounted centrally and pipe the light out to another place, but thats not what I was hoping for. I wanted something that would run without the HV driver like glow wire, but look like glow wire.
