Dave, how well do you think the spitfire slows down compared to the p47 with flaps?

Oh no, not again!

Yah but if you look at the plan view, the horizontal stab is waaay oversize. That seems common to all Spitfire models and Fox-composites said that when he made a replacement stab of scale dimensions, the handling of his (larger) Spit degraded noticeably. I am not sure why b/c the Me 109 does okay with scale control surfaces.

Certainly is a pretty plane though.

Yes well done to the boys at HH/PZ great job but i have two question for yah

1,I take it you HAVE belly landed this one, how will it hold up with the radiator and air intake underneath?

2,when do you think it will be in our LHS in the UK/Europe?

Thanks again boys.

Yes I have belly landed it on grass and pavement. The radiator scoops hold up fine as long as your field does not have clumps of grass that could catch a scoop. In regular grass it is not a problem.

Interesting.. Perhaps due in part to the elliptical wing ?

It doesn't appear to be mentioned on the product page, but for those of us installing retractable gear, we'll need to order PKZ5717, which are the pre bent struts made specifically for the Spitfire.

Why doesn't the new Spitfire come with flaps or at least come with the option to install flaps like the P47? This would slow down the landing speed and save some retracts from getting damaged on a hard, fast landing, or is it a sneaky HH marketing ploy to make us buy several sets of retracts?

Nah, they are trying to make sure I have some work I can do on these since the P-47 and SA5E don't require any of my expertise.

If they are anything like their previous planes Flaps won't be a problem. They have even given you panel lines to follow
