Looks nice but like the Hurricane I won't be getting one unless it's offered as an airframe only.

YAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I am sorry for the P-40 lads (would have loved that one too, honest) but I CAN'T TELL YOU how happy I am. Not only my Spitfire, but THE SPITFIRE, Air Vice Marshall (by the end of his carreer) Johnnie Johnson's spitfire!

The highest scoring Ace for the allies in WWII, highly decorated, a British gentleman and hero who flew as squadron leader for a Canadian (YEAH) Squadron and so identified with the men he flew with he wore a Canadian flag patch on his uniform and led them to significant success, right through the war! Amazing man and someone who defines HERO in both his exploits in the war and the manner in which he carried himself as a gentleman and citizen in peace time.

Johnnie Johnson WIki

You have to watch this video, it's VERY cool and they do a great job of re-counting JJ's career highlights, including bringing in a Luftwaffle pilot whom he tangled with in WWII ... amazing bit of history captured on film.

BBC This Is Your Life Johnnie Johnson

You won't believe it, but check out my blog, I converted my old PZ Mk2 Spitfire completely over to brushless, rudder, ailersons, split flaps, retracts and of course, custom paint job and decals based upon, you guessed it, Johnnie Johnson's SPITFIRE! Mine looks crap by this one though.

INSTA-BUY for me, likely get TWO just to have a spare! Now to see just how tough it will be to put flaps on this baby!

Matt, Dave, and all the rest of the folks at HH ... YOU DID GREAT!

Seriously not sleeping tonight, think I might have just peed myself a little bit ... wow!

Can't wait for tomorrow's HH anouncements, but won't be able to top this one, that's for sure.

Part II of Spitfire Mod Video with JJ jr Conversion

"Distinguished Service Order & Two Bars
Distinguished Flying Cross & Bar
Commander of the Order of the British Empire (1960 New Year Honours)
Companion in The Most Honourable Order of the Bath (1965 Queen's Birthday Honours)
Légion d'honneur (France)
Croix de Guerre (1940) with Palms (Belgium)
Order of Léopold with Palms (Belgium)
Distinguished Flying Cross (USA)
Air Medal (USA)
Legion of Merit (USA)

All won by a man whose very name struck fear into the hearts of the German Luftwaffe!

The top Allied fighter-pilot of the Second World War with a record of 38 enemy aircraft shot-down, the late Air Vice-Marshal James Edgar Johnson who died from cancer at the age of 85 at his Derbyshire home in January 2001, was a hero of heroes.

His courageous leadership and daring exploits as a fighter-pilot who flew a record 700 combat missions in his Spitfire during the 1939 -45 war earned him not only a cockpit full of medals, but the respect, admiration and friendship of other `national heroes’ like Sir Winston Churchill, President Eisenhower, and former mentor, colleague, and fellow flying ace, Douglas Bader, who became a life-long friend.

Johnnie Johnson’s well documented life-story and exemplary exploits are legendary."

Just nothing to say but BRAVO Horizon Hobby / Parkzone, BRAVO!

Here's a video someone did up as a tribute to Johnnie Johnson and the Spitfire he flew in WWII. Nice bit of info for those that might want to learn a bit more about this special pilot and his plane that PZ has modeled for us!

Can you tell I am just a little pumped!

I read his book, "Nine Lives" back in the 60's (and still have it somewhere.)

Oh that plane is sweet! Love the detail on it, and the fact that it's a IX - the best one made!

And thank you HH/PZ for NOT putting *%#^*!!! invasion stripes on it!!!

I will definitely be saving my pennies for this one!

Looking at the manual, we'll need to order the pre bent struts in addition to the e-tracts.
