G-480 Groove! Super Plane!

Wow! The new G-480 Groove kit from StevensAero is great! I received mine today. The kit is perfect, Bill is a genius!

Just a quick pic of what I was able to do in 8 hours. I am trying to get it flying by Saturday! Almost ready to cover just need to make the ailerons and mount the landing gear. I hope my servos make it! I have a Hacker B20 10L 4.4:1 to power it with.

What do you think? I would post more, but I really need to get some sleep!

I couldn't believe the amount of engineering that went into my Stevens CAP. It's so strong, yet so light... I just wish he would quit teasing me with these new prototypes and release the little buggers.... Or just send me a beta kit... ;-)

DEAF??? Where is it? I missed out on going to SEFF. I would love to go to an all electric fly-in.

Fun build, but I wish I had taken more time. I really want the plane done for this weekend. It is my clubs fun-fly weekend and I know the G-480 will blow away all the IC flyers!

Of course it has been raining for 12 hours now and they are calling for rain tomorrow!!!!

Wait on servos...

Well I have the G-480 ready to cover. I can't stress enough how great a kit this is! I was a true pleasure to build!

The forecast for the weekend is rain and more rain. Can't complain about the rain, we really need it!

Also my servos haven't came in yet, so...I am going to take to wife out for dinner!

Take a look.

talk to you all later

I got a good couple of flights on the Groove tonight. It stopped raining!!!

Everyone that was at the field was very impressed with the plane. It flies great and they couldn't belive how light and strong it was.

I am flying with a 9-cell HeCell pack right now, but ordered two ThunderPower 3s1p 2100 packs from Stevens AeroModel tonight! That should help the duration.

I am using a 10x7 pro, because the hub on the 11x5.5 prop is thicker than the 10x5 and 10x7, it will not fit on my prop adapter.

Also my prop hits the cowl with the current adapter, so I guess I need a new prop adapter!

I love this plane! I am increasing the throws on all control surfaces a little with each flight. It hammerheads, snaps, rolls, loops and knife edges fine. That is about all the aerbotics I know!

Thanks and talk to you later

Here is my G-480 all dressed-up. I got two more flights in on the plane and can't say enough about it. It is a better plane then I am a pilot!

I ordered two ThunderPower 2100 3s1p packs for it, should get 10+ minute flights with those packs.

Can't wait until the CAP 232 40A is available from Steven AeroModel! Maybe after NEAT? Already have the motor, a Hacker B40 10S+4.4:1 GB.
