Hmmm, sounds like you have a slight vibration in your fan. If you don't tighten those 4 grub screws exactly right you will get that sound. Mine had it also until I got it right. I have started to develop an ear for the Stu fan, with over 110 flights with 2 differant Sm90's I can hear a slight vibration a mile away.
Maybe have Stu listen to the video for a second opinion, I may be hearing the whistle of the airframe but I swear I hear a vibration in your lower power band.

great plane and congrats on the maiden.

I found the flat spot / thread lock / don't over tighten method works like a charm. Flat spot insures the rotor won't slide off, thread lock insures the grub screw won't work loose off the flat spot, and don't over tighten insures a like butter running fan. It's a win win win set up.

Hey Billy,
First up nice job on the build mate, im in the process of building my own hawk and i have some concerns over the airframe based on some of the video ive seen on her.
can you describe to me a little more on what caused the nasty stall at high speed?
was that just a matter of severe rudder throws on a first knife edge attempt?
also the takeoff wingdrop and landing tip touch was that also a control throw issue or an unfixable issue with your AUW in this airframe?
there appeared to be good ground speed prior to rotation so the wingdrop worried me.
what was your pilots thoughts on the jet?
apologies for all my questions i have a relatively high amount of money going into this plane and want to know all i can about its "bad" qualities prior to maidening
thanks in advance for any insight.

ps looking forward with great interest to another video with the reduced rates.
great job!
