Hi All,

I want to improve my FPV Setup. I fly with a fatshark and 5,8 GHz System, I would like to buy this cam

Maybe stupid question, but does it works with the goggles? Because they have a resolution of 640x480

Best wishes

Havenīt tested the Seawolf my self but have heard from others who are testing it that the Pixim Dx201 is still better then the seawolf.

Best regards / Kajaken

The PIXIM Cams seems to bee all the same with another branding. There is no real official product line - that makes it much more complicated

There is a new generation Pixim chip code name 'Seawolf"

I would avoid it for FPV flying.

Seawolf has 'enhanced' low light performance and higher resolution.
The upped resolution is hardly noticeable.
But that extra sensitivity comes at expense of slow refresh.
Ok for fixed position but unflyable.

The discontinued Orca give a much better image.
The DX201 has the Orca chip:

So get it while it's still available in stock.
In the meantime , we are working to fix the Seawolf software to perform like the Orca.

ok interesting, I thought that the PIXIM Cams would be the best for FPV flying. Isnt that? What would you suugest for best fitting with a fatshark (backlight, sun problems etc)?

all 3 are PIXIM. Pixim has gone through several stages of development. 1st gen ORCA, 2nd gen BELUGA, 3rd gen SEAWOLF. Resolution and low light sensitivity was improved from each generation, but generally speaking DX201 (PIXIM Orca) has the best characteristics for FPV out of the box. SEAWOLF is getting there with software updates, the chip right now is brand new, so most vendors do not have "FPV-grade" software available, this is why you hear complaints about bad sky. This was also major problem for BELUGA. As we sell the SEAWOLF we will not talk about direct comparison DX201 and TBS 69. We will post video tomorrow and people can decide for themselves, color handling and low light handling are different, everyone's tastes are different. In the end, the only thing we can say for sure is that PIXIM is the best for FPV purpose.

They are. That is, the ones with the Orca chipset are. Not Seawolf.

nice, a comparison video was my wish,
waiting impatiently

however i must say i find pixim colors a bit virtual, not very real, tehy are saturated but is some way like out of range, compared with some CCD like 171 G2, the G2 (camera i have) return a very very natural and real color.

PD: laughed with the 69 jock of tbs web

Do these newer chip versions emit the same sort of RF noise as the DX201?? Hopefully they're a bit cleaner?
