Use the remote to go into menu and save after you have made changes.

Today I flew my ZII in FBW mode ... I had to turn down the stabilization roll gain to 25, and stabilization pitch gain to 30 ... but I almost had no control over the plane .. I was pushing the sticks all the way to barely make it want to turn ... I'm not sure if it is supposed to do that ... I had to increase the dual rate to barely have some control ...

Any hints are greatly appreciated

Thanks a lot

I had the same issue with my Z2. I set my max pitch and max roll angle as high as it would go (60). That will give you more control.

AHI drifting while standing still ???

I've noticed something else .. today .. after I landed ... the AHI was tilted a bit although I'm sure my ZII was sitting on flat ground ... I remember seeing a similar issue over the range video forum from a gent who has just upgraded to 5.09/5.06 Main/Graph

I still have the stock firmware 5.07/5.05 on 5.1 hardware ....

the funny thing is that my 1st RVOSD on my lost ZII ... didn't have any drift

I wonder why it is that way

1-Needs a firmware fix
2-Vibration ... but it was standing still on a flat ground
3-temperature difference ... but that was near the end of the flying session .. more than an hour and a half
4-RVOSD is not seated properly ... but I'm sure it is setting dead flat on its anti-vibration mount

Any hints are greatly appreciated ...

Thanks a lot

1-Make sure your ZII flies correctly and comfortably by LOS and with no RVOSD ..
2-Make sure your ZII flies correctly and comfortably by LOS and with no RVOSD
3-Make sure your ZII flies correctly and comfortably by LOS and with no RVOSD

4-Then start Simple with the RVOSD as it is really complicated in a good way .. take your time and try to enjoy the learning curve ...

5-Read the RVOSD manual several times and the forum ... it's the RVOSD not the ZII you should worry about ...

Have fun and get back in one piece .. also turn off the RTH when you start until you are ready to test it ...

Is there anyway to set the autopilot to have 3 throttle setting? If the plane is too high, lower the throttle to predetermined descent power. If the plane is at the correct altitude, keep the throttle at the predetermined cruise power. If the plane is too low, set the throttle to predetermined climb power. Or does it already do what I described and I just don't know how to enable it?

Khaled,
How are your x, y, and z vibrations? Are they fairly calm?

I'm trying to get more stability out of my RVOSD. There was only about a 5mph in this video. But the plane seemed to roll alot. Do I need to reduce my roll gain? reset my neutrals? My AHI was slightly tilted to the left as I was flying and wasn't completely level so I don't know if I was fighting that and causing the rolling. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

N ice clip! A view of the OSD/flight cam feed would be helpful.
Getting the AHI to indicate level with the wings level is essential. Otherwise the plane will bank until the AHI is level. It is not unusual to have the plane roll around a bit in FBW mode, as every time you put in a little bank with the ailerons, as soon as you release the stick the stabilization will counter it and return the wings to level. It took me a while to re learn how to fly with FBW.
You can play with stabilization roll gain to tune for your particular plane.

Thanks. Currently I don't have anyway to capture OSD/Flight Cam feed. I'm thinking its a combination of things in particular AHI needing to be level. If weather holds up I will give it another go today. I had it once about a year ago and have lost the settings since. Thanks for the feedback.
