Am restoring Hull #1116 to modern spec's electronically and am curious what sail control is the current best to use. It has a Probar????? type installed. alum. sandwich with external motor and electronics in a Black ABS box. No idea what it's in-oz rating is and want a known quantity in place. HiTec 815BB on 6 volts is a bit puny is my experience so far, am looking at ServoCity 1500 oz. but figured it was better to see what others thought before I commit. Want to stay with an arm type, drum is way too much new build equipment for now.

The servocity "robot zone" servos work well. I use one in my N12 which is a similar sized boat, only heavier with more sail area.

Jib Sheet Tensioner

I just asked this question on the Yahoo Group, but thought I should ask on RC Groups...

I'm in the process of refurbishing a Santa Barbara that has a Jib Sheet Tensioner. I have two questions regarding this.

When should the Jib Sheet Tensioner be used?

If used, does the Jib Sheet Tensioner attach to the Mast Riser with a rubber
band? The hardware that came with my boat includes two lines that come out of
the Jib Sheet Tensioner Exit, with hooks on the end. I believe the hooks attach
to the tang on end of the Jib club; however, there is a broken rubber band on
the other end of the line (under the deck). I'm not clear what that attached to.

The Vortex 300 plans on the AMYA site seem to omit this detail.

Thank you.

If you give the original designer of the SBOD a call, I'm sure he would be glad to help you with that. If you are interested in this, PM me, and we'll go from there.

Mast details

How many use upper and lower shrouds on their boats? Where does one find those little rigging tangs for attaching standing rigging to the carbon mast tubes.

Hi Rssilor, I sail with the Chicago club, witch has a large S/B fleet, all of our boats use upper and lower shrouds, some of the guys with carbon masts are using tang-less masts, here's the link to the EC12 site on how to do it

I'm not sure if eBay listings should be referenced on this thread, but a set of Chuck Black sails for a Santa Barbara were just listed.
