From the Sacramento guys: we had a great time sailing with the San Francisco group. It is a great experience sailing with a club that has such remarkable and friendly members. We will be back in January.
A note on the Santa Barbara kit pricing, in the previous text it is stated that the price quoted includes a deck. this is not the case. We are working on decks but have not perfected them so cannot give pricing yet. As soon as we have an acceptable deck we will post it here along with pricing.

So what are the average wind conditions at your lake in the summer. It looks like the lake is nearly surrounded by trees, but you are very close to the ocean. Just wondering ?

I'd love to make it up for the NCR next year.

wind conditions

Clay
Wind conditions vary of course but our "Indian Summer" (late September-early December) often finds shirt sleeve weather here in San Francisco. There are variations to be sure. No one around here leaves home without multiple layers-shirt/sweater & jacket in the car.

beer-can #3 (December 8th) was calm and t-shirt weather. But, I had a turtle-neck, Irish sweater and foul-weather jacket in the car.

See the postcard picture Craig (SFMYC's alpha photographer) posted above (https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...+lake&page=142 #2122) apparently taken in circa 1906. NO trees. Spreckels Lake was constructed in 1898. So, today we have +50' trees surrounding the lake which create turbulence and eddies that challenge us as skippers.

Its daunting task but very do-able. Ken Campbell, 2011 AMYA SB O/D NAC Champ. from San Diego raced here in July for the first time and beat all of us hands down. Good skippers are good no matter where they sail apparently.

We look forward to you joining us (anytime) for the 2013 AMYA SB O/D NAC CHAMPIONSHIP RACES during the AMERICA's CUP RACES out on San Francisco Bay. Our. dates are awaiting AC announcement of THEIR dates. We think (????) Sept 20th +/- will be it for SFMYC....TBA. Thanks for your interest.

Nice pictures. Clay, wind can be changeable, count on being very shifty and puffy. Can be very windy like the above picture in post 303 of the wheelers sailing. Come and enjoy the sailing while having fun. Ryan

NEW YEAR'S DAY @ SPRECKELS LAKE-bring it!

Guys,
Thanks for all the RSVPs....nothing is required of you here. This is just a last minute update for Tuesday's weather forecast-SUNNY 57* wind 7NE

I hope you enjoyed the photographic art work for the POLAR BEAR notices throughout this process. Over the years, I've experimented with superimposing pictures to create new images. The process is made vastly easier with the MAC and the word processor-pages. Please enjoy the imbedded imagaes. Creating a visual sub-text is enjoyable while trying to send a message here to fellow skippers-Thanks for looking.

"FIRE" and 443 will be on the lake New Year's Day. Hope we have a nice turnout kicking 2013 off to a good start. Cheers! Onward<
