I do not like the new attachment browser. I miss the tumbnail bar and the comments. And I find the lightbox viewer to be slow.

I will edit my preferences to use the old attachment browser.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not...but I noticed that sometimes the Lightbox controls (the "next" button) will only scroll throw the images within a single post, even if there are tons more images in the thread. Other times, you can use the "next" button to scroll through all the images in a thread. It seems to occur kinda randomly.

Here's an example of where it's happening for me:

You can only browse through the photos on the current page. If you want to browse through lots of photos, use the Thread Gallery instead.

However, keep in mind that even in the Thread Gallery or Recent Attachment pages the prev/next buttons will still only let you flip through the pictures on the current page, which means 250 photos max at this time.

Thanks for the work you all do to keep RCG evolving Terry.

I'm going to keep trying this but I'm not sold yet. It is slower than the old way for a couple reasons. {{One is that you can't open the gallery in another tab while still reading a thread. For those of us that operate from less than urban broadband speeds some of the time this is a deal breaker.}} I take it back. It's working for me now.

I did find a little bonus move that is nice. If you have a scroll button (sorry Mac folks), when you scroll down it throws you back to the thread. it's kind of nice for a quick look-then-keep-reading kind of approach if you're on a fast connection.

Yeah, I know slower connections (cell modem) should be a thing of the past but if you saw where I live you'd agree it's worth it.

Terry I want to go back to the regular way I view this site . I don't like the smaller pictures. So how do I do that? Pete

I like the paperclip option to view "all of the photos" for the occasional search for a specific pic within a thread

but when I am just following a thread, I prefer the old method,
-seems to load faster
-photos are bigger
-can see the five photos on the bottom and skip forward/back function
-can view the comments

I will be switching back,

great forum, wife has facebook, I have RCG!!!!

I'm glad shift-clicking the image still properly opens it in a new window, unlike on some other broken forums.

Sorry, I much prefer the old system. The new photo browser is really slow to load ( I have broadband ), the comments are gone and you cant see the other photos in the sequence at the same time. I used to look at at a lot of photos on this site but now cant be bothered to take the time.

Otherwise, everything else on your site is great.

Never stop
The ability to zoom on the pics on iPad and iPhone is gone as touching the screen to pinch, closes the viewer.

Im going back to the old way... If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

You can see the comments while mouse over the thumbnail of the pic.

I just turned the old attachment viewer back on in preferences.

I do like the paperclip view - wish it was available from within the thread.

Without this paperclip view browsing attachments from within the thread is problematic.

I do like the direction you are taking. As always a few tweaks to go

Cheers jeff

I'm having the same experience on my iPhone.
