Never tried it, but simulation show the turbine to be a good candidate for that.

I can, a 910mhz turbine is 8.6", virevent is 8.5" in diameter, are you ready for that?

I just finished a new tutorial for the virevent:

I plan to offer DIY kits, you can post your interest here.

Also, two new antenna design are born:
-A 3 blades, "windmill" lighter, more aerodynamic and cheaper.
-A 5 blades, "fan" made as an alternative to the turbine.

Nice tutorial, thanks! I'll make a pair as soon as I have time.

Say, can I make a Turbine by just making more blades to the Virevent? I mean, are the dimensions for one blade the same?

No, dimensions and pitch angle are different. Don't worry, I'll make a tutorial for it soon.

A 900Mhz antenna is 8.6 inches? ugh.. that's a little big for my AXN. Are the website prices for a pair or just for one?

Wire diameter matter, since you don't scale the wire diameter, equations don't work.
I'll provide dimensions for other 1.2-1.3 channel tomorrow. For 2.4 and 5.8ghz the antenna is wide band so it cover all channels with good SWR. >1.5:1

Price is for a single one, yes those antennas are of low height but wide.

Man that turbine is a thing of beauty. Can't wait for the tutorial.

Also would like to see 3d plots of the patterns for the "windmill" and "fan", those look easier to build
