The wife and I are toying with the idea of hosting Saturday night dinner after the contest at our house (about 3 miles from the field).

We are thinking of having a BBQ - burgers, dogs, sausage, possibly some marinated flank steaks or london broil, roasted potatoes, corn, salad.

Nothing set in stone but I am fishing for ideas and if anyone is interested.

We could have bring your own beer or steaks or whatever you want us to grill. Down the block from us is a Fairway supermarket so you could grab some really good stuff there. Top quality produce.

I figure this might be a good way to reduce the cost of coming to the Island and for all of us to get together after flying.

One idea was no charge(just the offering of a donation) IF we reached a certain number of contestants like say 20, the otehr might be to just chage $5 or $10 for all you can eat for it or might just put out a donation jar to help offset the cost for us. Not sure.

What do you guys think?????

Just trying to get some feelers out about the idea......

you want exotic, we have thai, japanese, Chinese, Greek, Indian, Afgani, and more I am sure.

Let's come up with a consensus and I'll look into if they can give us a single large room or table.

But I need input!!

Frank, great idea; I would have liked to stay for dinner but I need to get back to 'the mainland'.

BTW, what is the policy for timer/watch malfunctions?

I believe it is if it is your timer, you are SOL. If it is the window timer, we will refly the round.

I always make it a point that I have not seen this addressed in the rules thus far. I may have missed it too.

I usually ask both timer and pilot to have their own watches so they would only lose a few seconds turning on the spare.

I am open to suggestions as to how to handle this.......

The date is about 3 weeks away.

Does everyone want to all go out for dinner on Sat?

Suggestions would be appreciated. I haven't eaten out as much and do not have a very discriminating pallate . I'll eat almost anything!!
