Hobby King Foamies

Hobby King Dolphin Micro Sport posing with big brother HK Bixler, The Dolphin Micro Sport is so tiny, with a wingspan that doesn't even cover one wing of the Bixler.

Fly, crash, glue. Repeat.

Looks nice. Might make a neat slope soarer. Kind of like the Kinetic 800 as well. Makes you wonder how many models will fit in that niche.

Have several flights on my AXN Floater now and I have to say I like it a lot. Far more agile than the E-Sport Phoenix, with the same power system it totally screams. Foam is of much better quality with almost a glassed finish right out of the box. A lot less floaty than the Phoenix, you can deadstick it in but it really wants some power kept on for maneuverability. Phoenix soars better. Both are quite susceptible to wind, the AXN gets tossed around a lot. Next step will be to put the gyro back in to make it behave better in the wind.

And the next one, Solo 1500 - 5 ft. wing span with a choice of V or conventional tail:

Looking at the motor alignment I'd imagine this one actually gets less of a nose-down effect when applying throttle heavy-handed. Seems like the center line of the motor goes pretty much right through the CG.

The clear canopy is a nice touch, especially for FPV.

Even within HK alone there must be at least 10 of these type planes to chose from now.

Yeah it was surprising how fast, maybe they will get the Solo 1500 stocked quickly also, I like that one more, the Raptor is kinda ugly.

Multiplex Easy Star II

It looks like Multiplex is finally updating the Prolific Easy Star with some additions namely ailerons for full 4 channels, and a bolt on tail. as far the ailerons I guess it is better late than never. since there is already at least dozen or so high rear mounted pusher type models with ailerons.

Although all of them are similar in that they share the same overall layout, but at the same time, they each have their own individual character/flying qualities, I guess that's why I am trying to collect them all!

Seriously, I do like them all, but if I had to choose among those I already built and flown, like when I go to the flying field, I favor the Bixler/Sky Surfer, on 2S it has ample power yet it is very light and it actually soars like a glider, but this combination has the power and maneuverability to fly all aerobatics, so the performance is not lacking at all. I especially like the large aileron surfaces for very responsive roll rate. For a simple 3 CH RET setup on 2S I love my Graupner Elektro Uhu. Still have a bunch of more models that haven't even been built yet, Anxiously waiting for the Hobby King Mini glider Atom, hopefully will be here in about a week and will build that one immediately to try out as that one looks like the ideal small sized EZ style model for small parks or school yards.
