Scale-electric 1/10.5 scale F-104

As of 6/23/11 I have begun to fabricate my own. The internet has made getting drawings very easy. It's harder to get your 15 year old son to enlarge them though.

Finally, he did. Look at posts below this one.

???

If I was going to build a smaller one I'd go with this one:

I have a friend with that one. Thanks, but a bit on the small side.

I guess it's time to fabricate one.

So here what I have so far. 100% scale drawings of a F-104G enlarged by my 15 year old and printed out. So the size is 67" fuse without spike, 31" +- wing span with tanks.

Next, cut out and jig up blocks of foam, fuse profile, X and Y axis, and add former bulk heads.

Our little group of fabricators always proof fly our stuff first.

We hate bad press in our little circle of RC.

I have been working on one also. It will be around 40-50mm all composite. The fuse molds and canopy molds are done, the horizontal stab is half done. Here is the thread

Nice fabrication on your 104.

I like to have retracts in my airframes, hence the larger size..

Funny thing about this model is a pretty small wing span get you a really big fuse.

Scott, see what you started up again.Well as we all try to impress ourselves, we all win.

Steve,

An awesome project! I'm definitely signed on. If you're planning on selling kits, add me to the list of those interested.

Thanks.

The rough draft, per se.

Now to true up all the formers, fill the spaces between the bulkheads with foam, hot wire trim, then shape.

All the while eye balling it to make sure it looks right too.
