its safe to charge up to 1C (in your case it is 650mA), above 0C below 35C

some types state 5C

mAh = quantity

mA = rate

I think you're saying your battery has a capacity of 450mAh and your charger has a fixed charge rate of 650mA (not mAh). If that's what you mean then that charger will normally only be safe for batteries with capacities of 650mAh or more.

You might be o.k. if your 450mAh battery specifically says that it can be charged at more than 1C. Otherwise the charger is throwing too much current into it to be safe. BTW knowing the discharge rate doesn't help you decide on what charge rate is safe .

^^^^^ EXCELLENT LIPO INFO^^^^^^^

Simplified:

A 450 mAh pack at a 1C charge rate is .45 amps = 1 hour charge time
Charging a 450 mAh pack at .65 amps = 1.44C charge rate = 42 minutes charge time
Charging a 450 mAh pack at .9 amps = 2C charge rate = 30 minutes charge time

If your 450 mAh pack has a 2C or higher CHARGE RATE capability then it is perfectly OK.

Do not confuse the max C rating for charging with the C rating of the pack for discharge/burst. They are two completely different specs.

Can't answer without battery capacity. Or, are you just trolling?

3600 4S 1C charge rate is 3.6 amps 3.6 x 16.8v = 60.48 watts

Your charging at 10 amps = 2.78C charge rate =168 watts

To answer your question .... if your packs are RATED FOR 3C or HIGHER charge rates than you are "most likely" NOT damaging them.

If you packs are 2C MAX rated for charging you should reduce your amp rate to 7.2 amps.

Charging rates are "highly dependent" on the quality of the cells/pack.

ALWAYS consult the manufacturers specs for your battery packs.

It's just that this thread had already covered charge rate vs. capacity. I thought maybe you were being ironic by leaving that detail out. We get that, sometimes.

Hi

Does anybody now were there is a chart with charge rates for different capacity LIPO's ? For example I think it would be convenient to able to see how many amps you would need to charge at a 1c or 5c charge rate for different MAH batteries

Thanks

Multiply mah of battery by recommended C-charge rate to get max charge rate.

3000mah pack and 2C charge rate = 6000ma charge rate.(6A)
5000mah and 5C charge rate = 25,000ma charge rate (25A)
500mah and 1C = 500ma (0.5A) charge rate.
