Hey people,
Another RCG user has pestered me into modifying OpenAero to work with ball drones.
What this means is that all the external mixing is done by a KK board and of course all the gyro stabilisation.

For now, only the mixing is done as you can see in the video below.
Don't get too excited by any directional issues as anything can be changed really easily.

I hope that this is helpful or interesting to ball drone builders...

Yesterday I posted a video of the ball drone mixing in OpenAero. Today here's a video showing the gyro stabilisation completed for the ball drone configuration.
So basically all you need is a cheap HobbyKing V2 KK board and this and some fiddling and you should be able to have a controllable, stabilised ball drone.

I haven't updated the GUI for it but you can set it up via LCD as per usual. If there is sufficient interest I'll provide more details, code etc.

Hi, I don't actually have a sphere/ball drone so I have just relied on info from others.
Another RCG user send my that image and I added the servo numbers to it.
If I had a drone kit I could test all of this out but I'm more of a fixed wing guy...

And here's a picture:

Looks like the CoGs right in the middle. Apparently its 42cm, 350g, 8min flight time, top speed 60km/h.
