Bill,
I'm expecting to have some inflight CC ICE data on Koch 9.8x17.5 and 8.5x23 blades on a Kontronik Kira 480/31 5.2:1 and later a 16/35/1 5.2:1 over the next few weeks. Happy to share if you like!

Regards

Bring on the data as soon as you can, Peter! I recon the 480/31 will be very similar in performance compared to my 3180kv ARC 28-58-1 with the same GB and prop...
Won't it?

Sure it'll work

Arctery,
I think you are right. I don't think you would get closer equivalents across these two manufacturers.

Bill,
I don't think it's possible to have the acceleration of a hotliner and the top speed of a pylon racer in one package but I love the noise that a geared folder makes in both setups, I love how they both glide unipeded by fixed blades and don't mind not breaking props on landing.

So what I'm hoping for is a geared setup that I just just change blades on - 16x 17 or thereabouts for hotlining and then a double overpitch 10 or 11 inch diameter for pretend pylon racing!

Or be like Jacko and have two fuselages with different powertrain setups sharing the same wing! (Which I thought was a clever cost effective solution BTW)

Let me get some data and experience and we can see for sure then.

Regards
Peter

Jacko,
I think you would be struck by lightening if you bolted a dirty old Scorpion to the front of your new X Plane......

Hahah, yeh this is true! What was I thinking. Would have to be modified to bolt up backwards too, same with a mega 22..

I have seen this motor shining on just 4S 3300mha and ~13x13 wide prop.
Motor was pretty hot temps,though.
Yuri.

on 6S will not work well and if a 7x13 works is the question.
Have only a 7x10 in DC but here is the result for it.

Yes I think 7x13 on 6S would kill that motor, it would have to 5S I would think.

Bill & Arctery,

Ran the 9.8 x 17.5 today on my Kira 480/31 5.2:1 on 5 cell 1800 and it was nice. Pity I only had time to do a few WOT runs before the thunderstorm hit but keen for more tomorrow.

Some data here if you want more facts (cough cough, according to my ICE Lite 100 of course!) : https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...6&postcount=28 A bigger capacity battery that fits in an X Plane would help with cell voltages.

Regards
Peter
