Steve, the prop blades are balanced to within 0.01g approx, so I assume as you the spinner may be slightly out.

Thanx Dean.... I'm pretty sure its this spinner, it's right before full power .....I got a couple more coming from Esprit, the aluminum ones with turbo cooling, yeah they were spot on so .......I don't think I'll get the maiden this Sunday maybe Wednesday next week, man these motors are smooth

Well i pulled the prop and spinner off and ran the motor up and it definitely is a bumble in the can of the motor....so i swapped it out for the 2.5 and ran it up and all is well,in a perfect world....150 amps .....2702 watts then 20,839 rpm, which is the same rpm as last test...... but then i realized i forgot to change the kv value in the logging...so rpm will jump a bit......so i figure ill try a 4s to start and give it a go, possibly run a 7x8 apc to start.....

Hi Steve,

Here are the test data and pic of your motors that Dan sent me few days ago:
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...0&postcount=15

He said the motors were running real smooth during the KV test. You should definitely send it back to have MEGA take an extra close look at it.
I'll e-mail you an address to send the motor back for inspection.

By the way, Changing the pole count in the software will change the RPM display on the graph, but changing the KV value in the software will not affect the RPM.
So Since the power draw of the 2.5S is so much higher than 3 turn without much of an RPM increase, that is an indication that the motor is being pushed too far.
It might unload enough AMPs in the air, but at this point I suggest that you should back down the AMPs on that 2nd motor (the higher KV 2.5S).

Since you are not maxing out the switching rate of your Castle ESC (around 30K on high ESC timing advance for 14 pole) , Go ahead and switch the ESC timing advance from High to Low and see if it has any/much effect on power draw or not.

Edit: Email sent with address.

G.

Thanx Ray, I will send it back....its definitly in the bell.....no worries....i ran up the 2.5 on a 4s 3000 and got ...14.1v.....125 amp......1754 watts and 19,500 rpm....static and i will use an older 4s 2250 for maiden since the new 3000mah wont fit.....not sure if you sent email to me, will check next.....my phone went swimming without me yesterday so only way to make contact with me is through FB or email.......excuse me while i work through my separation anxiety.......no phone till monday or tuesday.......

Hi Steve,

Yeah I emailed you Dan's office Address.
A friend finished hammering on one of my 16/50 motors and is sending it back to MEGA for inspection before either I use it again or anyone else asks for it.
Lets see which package makes it there first.
I don't even open up my own motors. :-)

I suspect either one of your 100,000 RPM bearings from Japan was defective, or it was stressed too much when installed.
Since your motor was final assembled during the 2 week pre-scheduled factory shut down, Dan will have no trouble at all figuring out who assemebled it.
So use his office address that I sent so he can be there during inspection.

Gryphon
