I have the 30mm using ThunderPower 325 3 s lipo. Flies great. Out of all my jets mostly 64mm I like this one the best.

Tks

if you got a BIG area to fly....you could go as low as 50% low rates , +35 expo until you get used to it
Great, thanks for the tip. I will probably start with the 70%, +25 and go from there.

I keep hearing good things about these little jets, I cant wait to get my hands on it.

I really dont know if it is a 30mm or 35mm; the specification sheet did not say, I think the BH video said it was a 35mm. I guess I will be surprised.

I have the several 2S 15C 450mAh and 2S 25C 450 mAh batteries from another plane that I plan to use. Maybe 3S in the future.

With my MiG-15 I'm running 4S and 250-350mAh batts...It is BALLISTIC!!!...I now have the new Turnigy NanoTech 300mAh 35C batts wired for 4S...Can't wait to try them!!!...Stock motor and 5 blade rotor but with a 12 amp Turnigy ESC rated for 4S....

The 30mm is set up for 3 cell and the 35mm is set up for 2 cell. Easiest way to tell is aileron servo. One in the center for 2 cell and two servos on the 3 cell 30mm bird. Using three cells on the 35mm jet will most likely require replacement of the ESC.

BPS, that was very good info.
I now know I have the 35mm because of the single aileron servo.
Where can you get the 30mm planes? I'm thinking of ordering a Mig-15 and want to get the 30mm version. I will upgrade my current 35mm F-86 to a better esc and run 3s on it. 2s is just too sluggish for an F-86

I think I have a problem..................with self control!

I haven't even recieved the stock plane yet and all I can think about are upgrades

Thanks for the info BPS, I have a few 3s ESC's from past projects, maybe there is a holiday sale on some Lipo's..........somewhere................

Banana Hobbies has the 30mm F86 for a good price. They only offer this plane in American and German markings. No 30mm Mig. Most are just changing the ESC to handle 3 cells

Here are the 30mm F86

Long ago when I started planes only had one aileron servo, even the large planes! I do prefer two servos for ailerons even on the smaller planes.

I think the extra servo would help in the event if one goes out. But with my slow reaction time trying to figure out what happened, it would be too late by the time I figured it out

The F-86 arrived today. Assembled and set it up. I changed the connectors on the servos to standard type to fit an Orange Micro 4CH, work well on the bench. Hope to Maiden tomorrow weather pending..............

Good luck with the first flight. Advice if your interested...launch slightly nose up wings level or right wing slightly low, full throttle. Let the speed build up before adding much control input, remember you have no prop wash over wings or control surfaces. The nose likes to drop in a tight turn, best bet is to level wings before applying elevator. Not much mass here so it looses speed quickly. Those are my impressions, looking forward to reading yours. Enjoy!

All good tips by BPS, I would like to add that you should take the fuel tanks off if you have installed them. This will get rid of some unnecessary weight.
