Thanks Joe, but I have a 2.4ghz. I assume I need one of these, but would like confirmation.

Do I need to worry about polarity issues? Not sure if I can solder anything that small.

Maidened the F-15!!! THIS FLIES GREAT!

Sooo happy with the F-15 FLIES GREAT, had a VERY GOOD maiden, this is the first EDF I've maidened that needed down elevator trim, almost full trim.

Making the video now, had 3 maidens today, but this one made me the most happy.

She's fast, didn't balance the impellers so she's LOUD, handles wind like a champ, winds were 7-8mph, you can hear in the video to come. Floats like a leaf and is surprisingly maneuverable, way more than my F-18.

Stock EDF's x2 12a esc's, 460mAh 3s, no ordinance nor landing gear for this maiden.

The F-15 looks great! I'll be waiting for the airframe parts to hit hobbyking.

I can't view the F-18 video. It says "This video contains content from UEFA, who has blocked it on copyright grounds."

Hello MIG 15 owners..

I've had my eye on this plane for some time, and i want to buy it with the intention of seriously modifying it. I've been reading about it here, and it seems lots of people have replaced the stock servo's, lipo and ESC to get more power and authority. But im not that technical and its hard to figure out what exactly connectors and amp values etc. will fit together... I'm mainly looking for increased power, instead of weight reduction, because my intention is to make a 1 m span seagull-shaped EDF sloper out of it (since this RTF MIG has a beautiful gull-body-shaped fueselage..

Is there someone who has some experience in replacing the stock parts and who can give me some recommandations which servo's, lipo and ESC to buy with it..?
would be much appreciated! best regards, Johannes

Not sure what that's about, maybe the UEFA has a copyright on the F-18 name? Anyways got it unblocked now.

The 6004FF is a great Rx - I have 2 of them that I use in my 35mm models. Even with that tiny antenna, range has never been an issue. Only down side is that they use the standard size Futaba connectors.

So, your choices are:
1. Swap out the servos for some new ones with standard size connectors. I have found a few brands here in the UK (Blue Arrow and Techone both make servos around 2.5g to 3.5g and are the same size as the stock servos)
2. Solder some new leads with standard size plugs. But soldering such thin wire can be a pain.
3. Get yourself a crimping tool and Futaba female plug set. IMO, this is the best option and is what I did on my F-18 and F-16.

Good luck!

I flew the F-18 and the Mig-29 back to back in 10+ mph winds. I'm amazed at the way the Mig handles the wind. I also decided to try tail heavy. I almost lost it on the hand launch, but after recovery and a retrim, it flew amazingly well. Even on 2s voltage, I could do really tight loops from level flight. If you like tail heavy, you'll like this one set up that way. I could do things with this that the F-18 couldn't pull off.

Go figure---They are out of stock on the ARF version...They do have a kit version in stock but I think that the stock version with fans/motors are up to the task and are a great deal when included with the plane....
