What's the best 3D 40 size aircraft ?

All the electric planes I've been through , I still can't seem to find one that will hover . I've seen one 40 size aircraft that could actually hover and that's about it . I don't remember what kind of plane it was or how it was set up .

The Kyosho CAP232 and Sukhoi will too, you just need an 'appropriate' power system.. I think this one had an Aveox F16 on 16 cells, 15x8 APC E prop..

Although not really a .40 size plane, (but I've flown smaller planes on engines larger than a .40 ) but will hover with ease at 1/2 thotlle and rocket up w/ more throttle is the now infamous E3D.
I used to think my Morris the Knife was a great flying plane ( and it is), but the E3D is right up there with it. The Knife does somethings better, and the E3D some things bettter. I do find the E3D quite a bit easier to hover, but it has far less rudder athourity than the knife. As soon as the E3D leans a bit in a hover it requires a bit more throttle (almost 3/4) to get the rudder to react enough to catch it, as the Knife you can let it fall about 45 degree, and just jab the rudder, and it will straighten out.

All in all an excelent E plane that will leave your glow buddies picking up their jaws off te ground after you fly it.

Great response ! thankyou .The E3D seems like the right plane ,however I am short on time and would rather have an ARF 3D. Does the E3D come in an ARF form or kit form ?

There is a new plane coming out that is a 10 cell 3D ARF with a wing that comes off. We will be showing it for the first time at the NEAT fair. More info on the way. We should have them for sell mide sep.

We are flying it with a Mega 22/20/2, 5:1 Gear, 16+8 prop and 10 cells
Price will be around $160.00

i'd recommend planes from the diabolotin series from espritmodel.com. there are some, like the diabolotin mini that are about the size of a 40. they are great planes, pretty cheap for what you get, built real well. z.b. is also a great guy to deal with.

It's the diablotin super mini or the Lark 3D . I want a plane that will fly slow and then hit the wall and go straight up . I just did this with my gas Magic . What a trip .Yes Zb is a great guy to work with .He's always treated me right .I'd recommend him to anybody .

Rereading the thread, I just caught the part that you have a magic.
Here's mine (now sporting a 19X8 APC, little over 450 watts in).
