Scorp's 51" Mono Build

I just cant help myself........so here I go again.

Custom ordered 51" Mono hull, 5 day molding process, ply transom support, ply stringers, and a custom teal metallic paintjob with several coats of clear. The color and shine are truly impressive in person, i wanted something a bit different and i guess i got it.

Motor: Castle 2028 780kv
ESC: Castle ICE 200hv up to 12s Lipo
Batts: Flightmax 5s 5800 30c's x 4 for 10s2p
.
Hardware: 100% speedmaster, 1/4" drive

Bill has set the big mono mark with his 65mph hour monster, i have something to chase now ........although that is not the purpose of the build, it just adds a little bit more fun to it.

Thanks for lookin'!

LOL....................yep! Started out with Traxxas Villains off of ebay, crammed a Neu in one of 'em.

This Hull is made in Oregon by Vern Kilmer, several folks on OSE have them and are quite please. Punisher has a 48" that he made up in a stealth fighter scheme, it's got a Neu 2230 in it!

Thanks for the comments guys

The hatch opening in that one reminds me of my old 45" "Big Purple".
Just plugging in to watch.

Finally got a little bit done.

Made another 2028 mount out of aluminum stock from the hardware store.

This hull makes this huge motor look like a 380L..............

In case anyone is still following i got some more done.

Made my own tube support, epoxied in the stuffing tube, and got the motor lined up good and straight..............very minimal friction.

Also got the stinger on.

.........

Thanks, I'm thinking props in the 57-62mm diameter range will be real close. The prop in the pic is an x460.............may start with it.
