Question

A Motor for the Bixler from HK ???!! Please help

Hi ...

I really need to get a Motor for the Bixler from Hobbyking ..

I don't know if I should get an inrunner or an outrunner ... I myself prefer the outrunner ... I think it runs cooler .. I've never owned an inrunner ...

Can someone please recommend a Motor(Outrunner)/Prop combo from hobbyking.com that can be used with the Bixler here

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=16545

Thanks a lot for your input

Khaled

I think you must forget HK for the motor, nothing to suit your needs, they are either bk, either not good parameters.
I recommend you from rctimer, my favourite motor suplier, the following motors, with 6*4 or 7*5, depends what is prop clearance:
http://www.rctimer.com/index.php?gOo...1&productname=
http://www.rctimer.com/index.php?gOo...7&productname=
Get 3 blades prop for even more punch:

If you want a motor for the Bixler, then just look at what people are using for the Multiplex Easystar. I do love the hobbyking prices, but it is a bit annoying to see them just copying other designs and not coming up with something original.

NTM line of motors is original.
The others are not even copied, are rebranded stuff of other mfr.

I was talking about the Bixler, which is a blatant rip-off of the EZ*

Get your facts straight. It's not a balatant rip-ff of the easy star.

It's a cheaper Bananna Hobby Sky Surfer, of another plane that is ripping off the easy star...

Is this a good combo for the EZ* clone ??

I really appreciate your input

I've got a Turnigy 2835 2200kv inrunner with a 6x4 APC on it in mine. Here is it flying with 4000mah 3s onboard.
2.6 miles on stock TX antenna with 300mW using my groundplane at the base (16 min 48 sec)

I use these motors on my twinstar. You can put a 6x4 on them but you will need a 30 amp esc. In my tests I get about 26amp for power on a 6x4 with a s3 battery.

I get mine from http://www.giantcod.co.uk/221206-220...-p-402397.html

Yup. Awesome plane the sky surfer.

I don't think this is a copy. Probably comes from the same factory but re-badged and sold cheap by HK.
I paid 3 times more for my sky surfer. It came with a crap motor to boot.
