If no one has done the testing and posted numbers, you would have to test it yourself with a thrust stand and a watt meter. Generally, if the motor has been around for a while, you will be able to find some reviews with thrust figures for a given voltage and prop. More importantly, you want the amp draw numbers for a given prop, to make sure you're not over-powering the motor or the ESC, and so that you know your battery can handle the load.

I don't have enough experience with multi-rotors to answer this one, so someone else will have to chime in here.

Yes - the theory says it will adversely effect the craft if adjacent props are too close together - tangential airflow and yadda, yadda.... and lots more tech stuff that I don't really understand

I've seen one or two "old hands" referring to bad effects experienced that were "cured" by lengthening the arms (or fitting smaller props).

Open Pilot is SWEET in the wind

no idea what the wind speed was, but it sure was moving those trees.

+1 for Open Pilot

I hope somebody can help me with this... I've been trying all night to set up my CC board. I'm trying to follow the video, and after doing the "rescue" bit and uploading the CC PWM firmware, I hit "boot" and it gives me the "you may now connect telemetry" message. The box in the bottom right corner says CopterControl USB, and it is connected. It never recognizes the telemetry link. What am I doing wrong? I have tried over and over and I cannot get it to link.

Sounds like it is connected, what makes you think its not?? If you move the board does anything happen in the PFD??

You need to update bootloader and FW this time don't forget.

Glad I got mine when I did...right before they ran out.

I was thinking today...can the CC board be setup to handle a reverse Y?, i.e. the rear arm up front and the Y arms in the back. Perhaps not even needing a tilt mechanism...just using the rear motors to handle yaw and roll duties?
