A 2w-20 on a 64mm fan with a quality heatsink running on 5s? You might be onto something there mate |

Pavcon - sorry I wasn't at home last night, tonight I'll be late back - I will get the info and cost ASAP - apologies for dangling the carrot!!
Ozzi & Strike3 - my thinking was the 2W-20 on a decent 4S pack can make 700W+ on a 6904. So on the smaller 64mm fan which will load the motor less, I'm thinking 1800 cells won't have as much oomph as a 3300 pack, so it won't work the motor all that much more. May or may not need a sink? I notice HET supply them with heatsinks now, mine are earlier models which just have the aly ring to centre it in the shroud. |

Mine too.. it's 3.36am now it's ready for remaiden.. should do a rangetest this time..
I will bring an extra receiver with me at the field in case that one fails. came down to 882g with the landing gear and the 4s 2200mah 45-90c nanotech battery.. if the thrust numbers are true it's going to be a fast bird. Also I tried to static balance the rotor. it was the 6 blade one that comes with the 4500kv cyclone power from xflight and it was truely unbalanced at low rpm.. it sounds much better now . nothing like dons or nowhere near but better.. The ESC is a 60amp hobbywing with switching bec. HXT900s all around except the steering which came with the servo already mounted. reduced the aileron to 65% movement and also gave 25% expo. I let the elevator throw as it was with 30% expo and the rudder also. I assigned the auxiliary1 channel to the knob on my DX8 so to correct any taxing trims without having to enter the menu. I'm satisfied with the build let's hope I will be more fortunate this time. The 9channel receiver that doomed the first Stinnger months ago was sent back to HK and was replaced |

battery weighs 360g
the erc 2445-3700 motor weighs 95g and is a little longer than the standard motor. esc located as far back as it will go in the top of the fuselage. battery slides all the way back into the cutout. removed a little foam so it would move back further. |

hmmm.. makes me think of my unused 2650mah pack
it balances but the receiver is lose in there an dI need to get it to the front.. my 2200mah packs are fat packs but the 2650 zippy 40c is long and thiner.. and allows the receiver to come forward.. it balances with that too.. the pack weights 317g.. |

pavcon... I use a 4s 2650 and put my Rx in front of the battery after sliding the battery back... Jim's balanced really well and has good thrust but surprisingly with all that weight it still lands reasonably well, not much faster than stock (but he does have flaperons to use too... which he didn't use for these first flights)
