Bungee launch mine and will never hand toss it again.
Just look back through this thread and you will see MANY times that even expert fliers have hand tossed theirs... right into the ground. |

It's really pretty easy and predictable underhand guys. I agree with the poster who said spend the $ on and upgraded motor or batts. Don't have to toss hard and just release about 30-45 nose up. It will fly on a nice arc and give you a good 2 sec or so to grab the Tx.

Well, I got my launcher built and maidened it yesterday...with successes and failures. First launch, I didn't have full power and full up elevator, so just dumped into the grass. Second went perfect. By now, I had several older fliers checking it out and really liked it. Third, my hook on the plane shifted and got hung up in the launch band and stuck...no damage. So I could just get in the air, my buddy who was helping me, tossed it and almost predictably, didn't throw it very well and so it was an interesting 2 seconds getting it under control. I like dth7's pic...great form. When I feel comfortable stepping up to 4s, I will likely do the underhand toss. But for now, 3s is perfect for me, but needs the launcher...for me...to give a consistent toss every time.

one of the biggest mistakes I used to do was go to WOT just after the release with the hand toss..BIG mistake it would almost always torque over and be inverted in a 1/2 sec, and point in every direction that the one I wanted it to go. Now I just slowly add power after the toss and it goes (most of the time ) perfect, even when someone else throws it.

This post (2696) shows where my tow hook is located. It works great. Every time.

The only electrics that I can think of that might be small enough are these: http://x-flight.com.hk/index.php?sp=...&more=&lang=en Even then, not so sure they're small enough. Good luck! |

I have tried the fixed LG from Freewing and found them too heavy and this compromised the performance. I fly at 5000' ASL and every gram makes a difference here. This little jet is perfect for handlaunch/bellyflop flying. But, modding is fun too. If you guys get anything figured out, please post a photo/video.

I bought a 3D printer kit from www.makerfarm.com, very useful both for production items I make such as custom fueltanks for my jet convertions or the dummy pieces as seen above. I bit of a threshold before you are up and running, but nothing super human Fitting landing gear is the least suspect you can do with a Stinger... I probably got the only Hacker A10 powerd Stinger 64 with full flying stab and vector thrust... 12oz flying weight. haha |
