It's Here!

Great News! 2WheelHobbies.com will have this bike in on Monday. I will make it available for purchase the minute I have my hands on them. I think I have a really good price but let me know if you see it advertised somewhere else for cheaper.

After tearing down the front end of the pre-production Moto Racer that we demo'ed at RCX all weekend, I'm glad that the production front end uses a front axle with an E-clip rather than the screw pin the pre-production models used. The front wheel, even with the tiny bearings, kept binding on the pre-prod one we used.

Here is retail boxed one I picked up today. And notice that the front brake calipers are painted silver in the final production.

And unfortunately, no luck yet getting it to bind with my M11/RF-901SM radio and module setup.

I drove the prototype this weekend at RCX and I couldn't get it to carve sharp turns like that... the gyro ran too fast even when I turned it all the was down... how did you get it to turn so sharp?

To all the naysayers and detractors that put the Moto Racer down based on its looks (you know who you are!): you owe it to yourself to try one out in person. It really handles a lot like a 1:5 bike, and as you can see from all the videos that have already been posted of pre- and final production models, it can handle even on a small track. For racers, it's the real deal. No, it's not an HOR, but it responds more like a larger race bike. I'm loving it!!!

Sweet.... and the other guys that were trying their bikes have never touched an RC bike before... well.. except for one, but he doesn't count because he gave up racing bikes a while back so he's out of practice....

Looking good out there Guidoracer... now you just need to figure out how to mount a transponder...

And that was with a non-modified, out of the box bike right?

The narrow lanes are two tiles wide, which leaves a rail-to-rail width of about 48cm. The lanes on three-tile-wide back straight and sweeper are about 78cm wide.
