Just my opinion, but I prefer these model videos with the noise of the engines, the chat between pilot and cameraman and (for electric models) the rattle of the water on the hull...I don't really think music adds anything.

The pictures are great though, this is one of my favourite threads.

I agree. Music covers the sounds that make the video seem real. Not to mention the fact that my taste in music seldom matches that of the video editor.

well, good, I'm relieved I took the video down so you guys didn't have to endure the music! I am sorry I even brought it to the table.

teryn1, if it makes you feel any better I enjoyed your video very much and the music really enhanced it. We all know what a motor or engine sounds like so a little mixed in here or there is all you really need. If your not going to use narration then music is the next best thing. Try some of the royalty free music sites that YouTube likes.

I hate I missed the video. I sometimes use music when I have to mute the original sounds because some loudmouths at the field won't stay quiet for three minutes. It's like a magnet or something and sometimes it's a bit rough to let go on the video.

Here's some video of my Hansa Bradenburg W.29 It's a great flyer, but I need to strip the covering from the floats and glass them. Even though I sealed them, they seem to leak a bit. I love the plane though.

Don't take it so personal, I still enjoyed your video, I just mute the sound. Not wanting music is just my personal preference and everybody's different, some like it some don't. What I really don't understand is the guy that has the sound system in his plane and still uses music in the video. I apologize if I upset you, my remark wasn't aimed at you but rather all videos in general.

I too apologise if I offended you - I was just expressing a preference, that's all. Mind you, there are times when the sounds picked up on the camera mike have to be edited out: the cameraman's annoying sniff, someone making an unacceptable comment, the sound of disintegrating balsa and ply and the subsequent curses...perhaps music has its place!

in the spirit of "show us your floatplane" sorry guys its yet another Cub

after an eternity of getting nothing done....

here is my 72" world models Cub on its homemade floats and struts.... just waiting for a nice day for the dreaded "float-maiden" this model is a total peach to fly (flown on wheels only so far) powered by an NTM 46 size Brushless on 4S this model never sees more than half power on its 13 x 6 prop

she is light as a feather... 5.5 pounds ready to fly with 4S lipo on wheels and just under 7 pounds with the homemade floats and lipo. floats are white foam cores with 1/16" balsa skinning on top and 3/32" on the underside, glass clothed and painted with the barest minimum of paint... servo operated water rudder on a Y lead.
its a real floater and just wont come into land with wheels... just floats on by... hope the extra weight/drag of the floats helps her touch down for lots of splash and goes

will get some photos or video of the maiden

I couldn't agree more! A cub on floats has got to be one of the top 5 favorite float planes for most of us.
