I have been pinching pennies for a year and finally ordered my Electra today.

I really needed a quality plane for our short field and this should do the trick.

I have been in touch with Mark Taylor. Our field is about 425 feet.

How many hours does a typical builder take to finish one?

I'm close to finishing mine, and it will be around 60 hours. I'm not a fast builder though...

And it is 60 hours of fun build, not 60 hours of pain...

When you are done, you are welcome to join me at woodland if you ever feel you need help.

Holy smokes. Did you have an ARF or kit? I'm glad it sounds like a fun build.

Woodland-Davis is absolutely where I want to maiden it. How is the new field? I was thinking about taking the Spark out Saturday morning and would be great to meet up and do some laps. PM me if you are up for it.

My first Electra ARF took 45 hours, my second 40 hours, that sounds about average for a decent builder after talking to a few folks that have built them...

I made the disclaimer in my post: I'm a slow builder.... so 60 hours sounds safe. And I do account for all the time, like when Im sitting in front of the plane thinking how to do stuff

It was an ARF. I don't rush it. In fact, I'm kind of bummed that I'm almost done. It has been a really fun build.

The new field is awesome, unlimited airspace. And the petromat runway is actually really good. I would not trade it for asphalt, is very forgiving, it absorbs energy on landings and very safe in the case of a gear up landing

Very likely Ill be there on saturday, I'll bring BV's demo fury. I'll pm you with details
