From what I can see the DX7s removes the following features from the DX8...

- 1 channel
- 2 trim tabs
- dual rates instead of the DX8 triple rate switches
- only 2 flight modes
- 20 model mem not 30
- DX8 = High-speed 11ms frame rate with 2048 resolution?? Don't know what the spec is for the DX7s?

I am stunned that you can not switch files back and forth from DX7 to DX8. I currently have a DX8, and kept my old DX7 as a back-up. HH really should have thought this through......why would I ever buy the new DX7, when none of my DX8 files are compatible??

It looks like its missing the backlit screen, too.

If it had the backlit screen, I would definitely buy one for that price.

I'm on the fence without one.

A new radio coming out without it is kind of a step back IMO.

They release the surface 3R with backlight so why not this one?

Is it summer yet?

I think it looks great, I'd pick it up in a flash. But not sure I want to wait a month (more?). I believe it is the price point needed, but the non-blacklite screen isn't making me smile. Maybe a DX8...Just a bit more $$ than I am happy with.

The lack of a backlit screen is a deal breaker for me, too. Until I discovered that, the DX7s was looking like a winner.

I hate the screen on my DX7 and won't buy another tranmitter that is not backlit.

Bad move Spektrum.

Can anybody answer this question does the new DX7S have the same built in charger like the DX8 or is it the same as the DX5,6 and 7i and se's ?

I have a DX8 and frankly I cannot stand the built in charger!

The DX7s, DX8, and DX10t all share the same charger circuitry. Sorry you don't like it - is there a particular reason?

Are they all 4.8V?

That is weird. When they say they are "Lipo compatible", what size Lipo are they talking about?

What's not to like - -it is simple and it works
theradio will run on a charge for couple of full flying days and recharge overnite
what else could one want?

Exactly that, I put my DX8 on an overnight charge to find the battery was well and truly cooked it even melted the rubber case the battery surround in. I spoke with HH in the UK they changed the battery with no quibble then again last week I charged it for about 6 hours again the new battery was too hot to touch. On Tuesday I took the transmitter, charge unit and battery back to HH they had it for two days checked it and told me everything is working correctly with the gear. They also told me NOT to leave it on charge overnight and make sure it does not overheat.

So now I cannot just stick it on charge and forget about it like I used to on my DX7 and all the other transmitters I have owned, using my peak charger which also told me how many Mh the battery has took to charge and knowing the pack has not overheated. WHY DID THEY NOT FIT A CUT OFF WHEN CHARGED OR THE NEON LIGHT GOES OUT TO TELL ME IT'S CHARGED.

If the DX7S had the same charging system like the DX7i and SE I would gladly sell my DX8 for it anyday I love the DX8 but hate the charging system. (rant over)

I would venture a possibility that you are getting double the charge rate intended
Can you have a qualified electrician read th output of th power supply?
I have access to three of these systems and even two days on charge causes no problems

Looks pretty good ! I would have considered prior to purchasing the DX8. Lovin the 4000 mah lipo in mine, only had to charge it once so far. So is this going to be the new RTF transmitter? Or is the DX6i with DSMX going to be the flag ship?
