For a conventional high, mid or low wing design, like a trainer, sport or aerobatic model, the length of the fuse should be 75% of the wing span, and of that measurement the nose moment should be 20% and the tail 40%........approximately!

Note..........the nose moment is from the prop to the LE and the tail from the TE to the rudder hinge line.

Also, it's best to have the wing and horz. stab on opposite sides of the motor's thrust line.

The late Chuck Cunningham published a great design series in the now defunct RC Modeler Magazine. Good basic design info including ratios of flying surfaces, stab sizes etc. They're still available as free downloads here:

The one by Ken Willard, 'Basic R/C Design Parameter' there might be worth looking at as well while your there.

Here's a good link RCT: http://www.chrisspad.com/planes/main...paddesign.html

It's about design SPAD aircraft, but there is a LOT of good info there regarding sizing the wing, fuselage and tail feathers. Good stuff.

But all that goes out the window when you make experimental Foamies ...

Seen many Strange Foamies here that didn't fit any of the standard calculations .. Yet flew... Just keep an open mind and do a lot of test gliding ...

I always use this program. https://www.birds-eye-view.nl/shop/p...gn-calculator/
It not only give you the right dimensions from all surfaces and fuselage parts but it also calculates the CG, wingload, and give you advise about the motor you need. I designed a few planes with this software and they all fly directly perfect.

Here you can see the last build.
SLOW CUB 1100 IN THE MIST (9 min 51 sec)

The guys from Birds-eye-view.nl also give how to build courses. You learn how to build and design your own plane.

Hope this is what you was looking for.

Sweet flying

Beautiful terrain and a very sweet flying plane, looks like a soothing experience.
