New pilot on deck
I have posted before with pictures and questions so some of you might remember me. I realize that the slow stick isnt coolest thing to look at, but I am very excited. I was suprised by my brother on Friday with my very own SS. I couldnt wait to put it together. I have gotten to fly my brothers a little, but when I did the mixer switch was on the rudder and elevator moved simultaniously. It took mr awhile to put it together, not knowing the plane well i wanted to be extremely careful as to not screw it up. After fighting to stay awake the next mornin, i finished it after 5 hours(lol) and couldnt wait to fly. The CG's were perfect upon completion so I was set. When we got out to fly, my brother did the initial test flight cause it was windy, and I had to wait for another time. Later that night, the wind died down and we went for it. After he got it up and goin, I took over and flew it for round 10 minutes before the controller batteries crapped out. I had one close call doin circles over our heads, and one near the poewr lines, but otherwise I did real well, and the next flight is gonna be all mine.....Im hooked!!!!!

Sounds cool.. I've got 2 - 55's with assorted marine life.. ONe is mainly full of Damsels.. Both have more live rock than I care to count... at ~$7-10 bucks a pound, you know what I mean.. Several damsels in it also.. They're just so easy to keep.. I just started the marine tanks so they're still cycling.. I would love to get some clowns eventually.. I've also got a few tanks full of African Cichlids, Frontosa, Calvus, bunch of Zebra's.. I've got a 180 gallon that is in storage as I have no where to put it.. Got it off a friend for less than you paid for live rock. |

I have to say I'm amused that whenever you see a picture like this people start commenting on everything else in the picture....ie drinks on the building boards, or in this case the fish tank. I'm surprised no one mentioned the spare wing on top of the speaker, or the network router (I think) in the top picture....

BRIAN: I agree, but the conversation and ablitity to get to know you guys is great. Router is awesome, got it for $20, and the spare wing is for my brothers SS. Brought his in to compare the bow in the wings(tip to center).
Tram: my buddy got a 120 gallon , but that thing is too huge, and yeah I know what you mean about the live rock. I do know quite a bit about fish, both salt water and fresh. I have raised many fresh water, my favorites have to be a northern(which died), a large mouth bass and 5 oscars. I sold 3 oscars, one died, and the remaining one got traded to a friend along with the bass. Amazingly, the oscar and the bass live together in a 55 gallon with no problems. Also to comment on the change of subject as to the picture....I didnt really expect anyone to be over joyed, but I am happy as can be. Tomorrow, I get to drive 100 miles both ways just to get a 48 crystal for my plane. Unfortunatley there are no good hobby shops in my area, but all that matters is I'll get to fly, that is if mother nature can show some mercy. |
