Very nice video! I'm glad you got your "mini pop" flying well.
I'm actually downsizing my mini popwing as well. 2 cell lipo's and a 3000kv brushless.

You could probably break it free if you carefully cut along the the glue between the motor mount and the foam with an Xacto knife. I know that's saved me a few times when I noticed something I don't really like and I want to adjust it a little better.

If it spins, wear it.

My first post on the "wings" section of rc groups. I don't have a wing yet but I've been wanting one ever since I saw videos of them flying on youtube and flitetest. So I ordered a big pop wing from Nitroplanes this evening and a battery. I can't wait!

I will be using a DX6i. What are some good low dual rates that will make it nice and smooth to fly for a wing newbie like me?

I keep the high rates at 100% and the low rates at about 55-60%

Seems to be a happy medium to start with. You can fine tune to your liking after a few flights.

I've been wanting to do some night flying (more like make neighbors think there is a ufo in the area ) using led lights.

Can these pop wings carry around led lights? I've never used or bought any lights before. I would like to put on enough to be able to fly it at night in a field. The wing I ordered has a 35 inch wingspan.

And use around 30 expo...

You said Big Popwing, what wingspan did you order? 900 or 1200?
(oops - we posted at the same time) There is a bigger 1200mm is why I asked.

The DX6i has a programming bug in Elevon mode. Here is a workaround to get good, even elevon movement.

Does anyone have a 1200 pop wing that actually flies descent??? If so what motor are you using, I've tried 3 different motors and it sucks, the regular popwing I have screams.

Oh yeah, they can hold the weight of LED's. I saw a youtube video somewhere with one covered in lights.

Woooow!!! That is exactly what I want to do! I can't wait to get mine and set it up. Now I'm going to have to order some led lights, probably from hobbyking.

My kit is still in the box.
Kind of waiting to hear of a good powertrain myself.
I have one of these:

Thanks for that.

Is the pop wing easy to fly inverted? I've not mastered basic aerobatics yet, just simple flying and landing. I can do a few rolls and loops on a couple of my planes but I'm not very confident at that yet.

I don't find myself flying these inverted as much as other planes.
I think it's because it's a bit hard to keep up with top and bottom on these things.
All you have is the winglets out at the tips for orientation.
You should get a Mini Pop too. It's a blast. Lot's of people like it better than the 900 and I'm about the same way.
