GRAVITY... Just Say NO!
ArcherAce's Avatar

I'll do us all a favor...

SOLDIER #1:
Listen. In order to maintain air-speed velocity, a swallow needs to beat its wings forty-three times every second, right?
ARTHUR:
Please!
SOLDIER #1:
Am I right?
ARTHUR:
I'm not interested!
SOLDIER #2:
It could be carried by an African swallow!
SOLDIER #1:
Oh, yeah, an African swallow maybe, but not a European swallow. That's my point.
SOLDIER #2:
Oh, yeah, I agree with that.
ARTHUR:
Will you ask your master if he wants to join my court at Camelot?!
SOLDIER #1:
But then of course a-- African swallows are non-migratory.
SOLDIER #2:
Oh, yeah.
SOLDIER #1:
So, they couldn't bring a coconut back anyway.
[clop clop clop]
SOLDIER #2:
Wait a minute! Supposing two swallows carried it together?
SOLDIER #1:
No, they'd have to have it on a line.
SOLDIER #2:
Well, simple! They'd just use a strand of creeper!
SOLDIER #1:
What, held under the dorsal guiding feathers?
SOLDIER #2:
Well, why not?

that's enough of this... I can't believe this made it three pages.

I beg to differ. MiniAC 1215/16 and 10 cell 1100 NiMH's could lift at least a 1 lb coconut. Put 3s6p 2100 Thunder Power Lipo's (12600 mah)(26.25 hours at 8 amps) on it and you could get across at least a small continent. You would need a large transmitter battery though.

Now you have me going. I'll just have to run to the grocery and get a coconut to prove a SS can lift it. Pics to follow. Won't try for the continent just yet.

I feel happy...I think I'll go for a walk.

The number of the count shall be three, and three shall be the number of the count. Nither two nor four unless it be preceeded by three...five is right out.

She turned me into a newt
A newt?
I got better.

It's just a little bunny rabbit..
But it's got fangs..

And they had to eat the minstrels....yaaayyy

Spank me...and me...and me...

Sorry, the peril is too perilous

My dog's got no nose
How does he smell?
Awful!

it would have to be in the negative numbers - including yours. With what you do to Slow Sticks you have to be a Python watcher.

Just wait, I'll get a coconut to fly on my Psycho Stick. Just give me a week.

By the way it is shwubberwy not shrubbery.

I tested the Astro SS with a 1 pound weight! No problem flying but it didn't exactly float in any more!

Holy cow! That is unreal. Imagine the wing loading on the poor thing!

So, now you can fly your $1,000 digital camcorder on your SlowStick!

Back to the topic here, my SS with the MiniAC 1215/16, 6:1 PGB, and 13x8 APC prop cuts along at, I would estimate, 20+ mph straight and level. Not too shabby for a "slow flyer".

Steve, Since I'm at 500 feet and running a 14 X 7 E prop with 9 KANS with my MiniAC with the "D" box, I think I'M a little faster than that at full throttle as long as I'm not in vertical mode!

I've got some 9xKAN 1050's on the way, I'm eager to see how the SS does with one more cell...

You might be able to go to a 14 X 10 at your altitude! My motor is warm but not so hot I can't touch it after a lot of full throttle on the 9 cells!

Steve,

I'm sure these guys have the answer!!

However, I don't think they are parkflyers.

"0, assuming you land from the same spot you took off. Velocity takes into account direction"

I thought velocity was a vector - product of speed (linear or single dimension) and direction......

Anyway I still think it is about 12 to 15 miles per hour

On topic, around 18 mph with an RZ350/8cell KAN950/D-geared 1080 4 blade prop...probably a little faster in a full power vertical dive

Couldn't help it, "What's your vector Victor?"
