georgez: looks great! bouncy gear isn't bad, just set it down slowly so it doesn't recoil.

I use the battery holders I built up for my Quad (based on the Photohigher battery holders on my Octo) as my landing gear. Works very nicely.

I realize a lot of the landing gear in this thread is modified DIY type gear but this is the BEST landing gear I've found by far and it saved my quad from several hundred feet up!

Out of helis, sanity returning
If your multirotor has square arms, this will work well. One picture shows the gear on an arm of my wooden hex, and the other shows the simple jig I made to bend them (there are 3 on the hex). The shape is nothing special- I just eyeballed it.

The stock is 1/2" aluminum flats from HomeDepot or Lowes.

Yeah rugged, it was meant to be.. As all maiden design and flight, preparing for worst case scenario, when it come crashing down, just hopefully these AL will safe the day.. Nice to see, but no fly yet..

The landing legs:

double sided taped them into 3 and cut together to get a more uniform shape and dimension. Drilling will be more precise too. But hell lots of effort needed! Muscle sore for 2 days..

My solution for landing gears can be found here https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...33&postcount=1 . Simple, effective and pretty.

I rebuilt my X525 frame with 1/2 wooden arms. After cutting the arms down to length, I zip tied the original X525 landing gear to the arms, and then zip tied the cut off pieces to them.

Works like a charm!
