True

A guy in my club has the beast and it's a great plane BUT the prop system/hub sucks as on his anyways (if I remember correctly) he can only use stock props

How do you guys get around that?

The stock motor hub system is actually excellent for GWS props, it's a straight swap out.

RE, good price on the MM 13/6/9T Competition Special motor, no joy there. I got mine from Bob Selman Designs. You can only special order, and they are $91 a pop, plus shipping, such a deal. Plus it takes weeks for delivery.

But I can't wait to see 190g of thrust in action

90 a pop?
Wow pricy for sure lol

It's a direct swap?

His has some weird prop adapted that only uses Parkzone props, or am I way off base?

I thought that I remembered it having no exposed motor shaft but the tip of that shaft was inside the bell which is where the prop adapter was attached to.

Maybe i was drunk that day lol

I tried a new 2-3 S small bL motor today that is 3000 KV; larger than AP05 and it was disappointing to say the least.

Website claims it can handle 3S with 7.4 prop; well it can barely handle 6.3.prop on 2S
Plus the prop adapter sucks and is too lose on GWS props 6.3 and the like.

Dissapointing

RE,

It's a direct swap. The Beast's stock prop has a 4mm center hole, just like the GWS props. The 5030 is a perfect fit. Due to the 5043's thicker hub, you have to shave a bit off the inside of the spinner to get a good fit. That's it. I have two Beasts - one optimized for short-field flying, and the other optimized for unlimited aerobatics. The short-field ship has a 5030, and the unlimited ship has the 5043. Of course, even the short-field ship would be considered unlimited - just not as spectacularly unlimited as the one with the 5043.

This looks like sweet, simple, drop-in, insane, KICS type stuff.
The kind of stuff that unlimited 1000' loops are made of.
3-1 power to weight stuff.

Looks like the motor fit was simple in the Beast mount.
Any problems that come to mind with this set-up besides being power hungry??

Short flight times and need for throttle management are the only drawbacks. Personally, I prefer short flights, within reason. The only thing that keeps the MM motor from being plug 'n' play is the need to solder a compatable three pin connector on the motor leads. Weight is slightly increased, but not by much.

Yes, it's pricey. If you wanted to drop a Roush crate motor in your 'Stang, you'd be paying a pretty penny for the privilege. You would be grinning from ear to ear until you ran out of rubber or gas, however. Same thing here. The Mighty Midget motors are very powerful and extremely efficient at the same time. The workmanship and engineering are exquisite.

Any pics of the new board? Once again, this will change EVERYTHING we know about micro planes. HH does listen to us and now has the footprint to make many kick ass planes !!!!

3 cells?

Ok, she can take the amps, but how about VOLTS??
I have a 120mah 3s pack and some 4.5x3" props...
So now that the servos are removed, the "brick" will be $20-30 less??
Wishful thinking, but Id like to hear about the limitations of the esc/bec concerning 3 cells.

Still on the lookout for the new receiver manual.

For Wholesale Trains Buyers Club Members, the Sbach is now up for preorder... $144 and I'm now on the list for mid June.

Sadly, in dog years, this will be a long 14 months!
