I'll say thanks Sentry for saving me a hundred dollars.

If only the speed, altitude, and heading were correct, it would be a perfect item...

Not to be dismayed - I was finally able to give it a good thrashing

On "the other site" there is discussion on improvements. The only real issue I have is flickering with the battery data - maybe I have a faulty current sensor although it does appear to be accurate, it shouldn't be flickering. The demo videos from Skylark do not flicker. I rarely post over here anymore (in this section) but felt the need to support Skylark since I was one of the 1st with the OSD in the air. You guys know where to find me for my future test flights w/ Skylark. Happy flying,

Sentry
Hi SENTRY,

We hard analyzed your post videos, the current sensor is OK.
The battery data flickering occurs because of a firmware bug in NTSC mode, now we have fixed it.
A USB update cable will be posted out to you.
You can upgrade new verision firmware and configure display mode via the cable
We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Best regards,
Skylark FPV Service Center

Skylark, what do you plan to do to fix the large problem with the altitude setting. It's useless to even have on the screen, because of how inaccurate it is.

Mine arrived today. Ordered on 24 April and shipped via registered airmail for $6. 27 days from China to Rhode Island.

I'll try to get it hooked up tonight so maybe I can do some testing tomorrow afternoon. I'll let you guys know if mine has the same issues as Sentry's.

EDIT: They did send me the free USB cable even though I ordered before that was announced.

I untwisted the GPS wire, put 7 wraps on a 10mm torroid next to the GPS board and retwisted. Not sure if it will matter.

^^ I don't have any torriods on my plane - haven't needed any so far. Please post your flight video if you can so I can compare.

As soon as I get the update cable I will reload the software. Skylark are you going to post the instructions for firmware update on the site or are they included with the cable?

Below, I will do a quick review just to recap action items.

ISSUES:

1) when I power the motor, the km/h data moves from 0 even when the plane is not moving - is this expected?
2) the altitude and distance to/from home seems to drift even with multiple sats locked (altitude seems to drift more than the distance)
3) battery data flickering (this is corrected with new firmware update - I will post new results after testing)

FEATURES I WOULD LIKE TO SEE:

1) a downloadable firmware that includes artificial horizon
* this should be optional as I don't like artificial horizon on clear days
* or maybe a single download, but allows a MENU to select options like (metric/imperial/horizon on/horizon off, etc)
2) Imperial data vs Metric
3) RSSI displayed in values from 0% - 100%
4) ability to turn OSD on/off via the radio would be nice

When I reload my firmware I will do more test flights and will post here an on FPVLAB

Sentry, have you had any better results from the GPS?

In your video, it seemed very unreliable.

I haven't flown in a while - once I get the cable and new firmware I'll go at it again. I love the innovation of this OSD and the weight/size and easy of installation. Of course when you buy a new release it will have it's issues - but Skylark seems to be very busy going over the code and I predict that it will only get better and better.

throttle based like the speed value.
Just kidding.

Does not know how he could suggest this. :?

For such a simple and small OSD, we don't want addon sensors.
For such type of applications we have Eagle Tree or Dragon OSD, .....

If the OSD support artificial horizon, you have to expand a attitude sensor .
You can set other features by Skylark Configuration Software
