Just purchased the 9104. it was previously flown and could have been crashed. I took it home and powered it up. at the slightest throttle up the heli immediately starts to rotate left and the tail rotor spins at maximum speed. Putting full left on the stick and adjusting the gyro full left only slows it down slightly but not enough to prevent the rotation. HELP!!!

Did you charge up the battery fully? One of the indications is that the tail motor is the first to start loosing power and does what you described. Another is a weak tail motor. These fail quite often on these helis. I have been through quite a few of them.

I charged it fully. Same issue. just keeps rotating to the left. I hold it in my hand and the rear blades seem to be spinning at maximum speed. full right on the stick only slows the tail motor a bit but not enough to prevent the rotation.....any other suggestion?

Well! Either the battery is defective and it cannot supply enough power to overcome the torque of the main blades, usually in flight this is what happens when it starts to get low, or the tail rotor motor is defective. Does it good altitude with the main?

Brakes? Who Needs Brakes?
After all my troubles with the 9104 and tail rotor and main motors.. I finally replaced the whole tail unit with one from the MJX F45.

I used the tube from the 9104, the rotor housing, fin, motor, and blade from the MJX.
I had to change the connector wires around though because the blade spun the wrong way.
I replaced the main motor with one for the MJX F45 and now... this thing flies like a Dream!

It no longer has the Left Spin issue and it even flies faster and much more stable.

A video of the main rotating and the tail rotation would be nice. I do take it the main is spinning clockwise and the tail is spinning in the opposite direction?

yes the main blades spin clockwise and the tail spins counterclockwise i that is while looking at it from the blade side of the does get off the gbut it only spins around in circle

Have you changed the rear rotor motor? I know they are weak and I have gone through a few of them. Earlier, jscrepair did some mod to the tail from the mjx f45 tail section and is very happy with it.

yes i changed the rear boom and motor to one from a 9101 and shortened boom to same length as the 9104 boom had to drill boom suport to mount the new assembly

9101 tail???? Is that a typo? If not, that is a coaxial and there is no way that motor can keep up with the torque of the 9104 370 motor. A 9116 or 9118 series fixed pitch heli tail will do, as they are basically all the same. These are weak tails and don't last long. Look up the modifications of TrumpT. He used the tail from an MJX F45 and he says it worked out well and may last longer. I did quite a few mods on mine, but it is on the shelf for now until I finish my 450. I plan keeping the frame, but put in a brushless main and rear motors with a variable pitch on the rear just like my 450. The 9104 is the size of a 250.
