This is a great plane, one of the guys at field has one with a 30cc Syssa gasser in it. He let me fly it and I LOVE that bird.

I am looking for a New Red Gas 71" AJ Slick (anyone have one for sale??) 3DHS is back ordered until 2012!!

Can't wait for Spring to fly!!!

If you are going to put a Syssa 30cc in your Slick here a great way to use the choke!! The Troll is on FREAK when it comes to doing 3D Planes RIGHT!! also he has lots of 3d videos with lots of SLICKS!!

OS GT33 vis DLE-30

Well I see that OS has a new gas engine the GT33. How is this engine going to compare to the DLE-30? I have a DLE-30 that I was going to use in my 71" Slick Gas but thinking of giving the OS GT33 a shot. Any adivce? I've only read one person using the GT33 but good reviews based on DLE-30 experience. Haven't used either engines but if the OS GT33 is anything like other OS engines I have had experience with....it should be good. Thanks!

I have DLE 30 in my slick right now but as of friday it will be gone and a OS GT33 will be in its place.... Direct swap according to Joe Smith

BTW here is a video and short review of the engine in Joe's 71" slick

Joe Smiths review and video is the only one I've scene on the new OS GT33. I'm returning my DLE-30, J'Tec Pitts muffler and 3" Spinner today and ordering the OS GT33 on Friday. Any idea which 3" spinner will work with the OS GT33? Thanks!

i dont think its' really going to matter.... Joe said the OS output shaft is smaller than the DLE so he used a APC bushing to get the prop to fit.

probably have to bush about any 3" spinner on this engine.

Stand-offs

What stand-offs do I need to use with the OS GT33? Will the DLE stand-offs work?

I hope so.... it has the exact same footprint as the DLE and Joe SMith said it was a direct swap for the DLE.

I will know for sure tomorrow! :-)

got the OS GT 33 installed and fired up yesterday..... all i can say is WOW!

the throttle response is just amazing... it feels as connected to the throttle stick as any electric motor. Amazing power from right off idle.

this engine was made for 3D no doubt about it!

much smoother running than the DLE30 too.

on the 71" slick you are going to need a set of the 5x 44.5mm standoffs that OS offers for the GT55 in order to get the correct spinner gap.

I'm very impressed with the included pitts muffler on the OS as well.... it's as least as quiet as my DLE with a cannister.

dont know how long the OS will last but they have been making engines since 1936 so i'm not going to worry about longeviety just yet

IMO the OS GT33 is worth every penny and then some
