Prop for DLE 30, to suit basic imac aerobatics

I'm building a slipstream sbach 342 up, as a good sports flyer, and to use in basic imac. I'm willing to buy a good prop for it, but don't want to buy lots of expensive props on it working out what is best. I'm not after top end speed, getting a good compromise between thrust and speed is more impostant.

Whatsize and brand prop would you recommend, based on experience?

I'm not interested in APC props, they are too heavy in the larger sizes. A woodern prop or a carbon prop is more what i would find acceptable.

I have been using Zoar wood props. I have used both 18-10 and 19-8 with great results from both. I have a Beila 18-10 carbon to try but there is still snow on the field.

Been running a 20x6 on my DLE30. I'm not sure it's enough pitch for my taste. I need to get a 19x8 and try that. The noise to speed ratio is too high, lol. But boy the amount of THRUST this puts out is incredible.

19x8 seems to be a good combo with the DLE 30. Xoar runs great.

Cheers Guys, i think i'll be going with a 19x8. A cheapish woodie to start with for the first few flights, followed by a briela 19x8 carbon prop. Low noise and high efficiency is the next goal.

Hi,
I have the Pilot sbach with a dle 30. I run a Zoar 19/8. I would reccomend a pitts muffler or a canister type because the stock muffler is very loud and will kill your sound points for the Imac sequence. I hope this helps.

Hondaboy92hatch,

Using a pitts style muffler is what i am hoping to do, not sure which one i will get, the bisson, jtec or similar. Any ideas on where to get a good deal on one?
