Commonly Asked Questions

1.) How do I hook up the LED lights?
Answer - The supplied LED lights are disappointingly dim. It is recommended to replace the LED's with aftermarket ones either hook them up with required resistors to a power source or better yet, to get an aftermarket lighting kit (see links further below).

2.) What size of battery can I fit in this plane? Answer - Although the recommended 2200mah battery is fine, consensus is that a 3000 to 3300mah (3s or 4s) battery is a good balance between flight time and weight. Beyond 4000mah is pushing it.

3.) Why aren't my retracts working? Answer - these retracts can sometimes hang due to poor servo plug connectors or kinked wire connections. Another common issue is that the retracts don't like the cold weather. When the temps drop below 40-45 degrees F, they stop working.

4.) Are there any weak links with this plane? Answer - the nose gear is prone to bending on hard landings and even over time on good landings. Many of users in this thread are either adding an aftermarket oleo strut to the landing gear stem, replacing the landing gear stem with a similar sized motor shaft, replacing the entire landing stem with an aftermarket spring stem (Dubro 1/2A), or replacing the entire nose retract/landing gear assembly with an aftermarket unit.

5.) The plane doesn't seem to have much power, is this normal? On a 3s battery with stock power system/prop, it is lacking power. To increase performance on 3s, it is recommended to replace the prop with a two blade MAS 12x6 prop or an APC 12x8 prop. This will give you a nice increase in performance while not having to change anything else. On a 4s battery, it is required to replace the ESC with a 40A or higher continuous rated unit. The stock prop works well on a 4s battery, but the MAS 11x7x3 and MAS 11x8x3 are also user favorites.

6.) What is the supplied glue and should I use it? Answer - the supplied bigger white tubes are rubber cement and the smaller tube is canopy glue. You can use them as required in the directions, but you can also use epoxy, gorilla glue, etc to ensure more holding power.

7.) I want to add flaps, what do I need? Answer - Two 9g servos, two linkage quick connects, servo Y-adapter (if only using 1 channel), and servo extensions as required to reach your receiver. One of the servos will need to be reversed. You can reverse the servo yourself by cracking open the servo and reversing the leads on the motor and the pots, install a servo reverser, or plug the flap servos into separate receiver channels and reverse accordingly. See links below for flap

8.) My plane wants to balloon when power is applied, how do I fix this? Answer - the thrust angle is commonly not enough on this model. By simply adding small 3mm washers to the back of the motor mount or between the mount and the motor, you can increase the thrust angle which should be slightly down and towards the right wing. A good example of this performed along with an illustration from the real plane can be found here... https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...postcount=6169

9.) Is cooling an issue with this plane? Answer - it is generally recommended to add some vent holes to the front cowling and also an exit hole towards the bottom rear of the plane. If you do a search within the thread for just the attachments, there are many good examples (pictures) that can be located for illustration.

10.) Where should I place the battery and receiver? Answer - refer to post #140 https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...&postcount=140

11.) How can a prevent my canopy ejecting during flight? Answer - add a latching mechanism or more rare earth magnets.

12.) How do I access the motor and ESC? Answer - remove the prop and simply pull the cowl off (held on by magnets) to access the motor. To access the ESC, remove the 4 screws that hold the motor mount to the firewall and simply pull the motor/mount and ESC out together.

13.) My landing gear mains droop when retracted. How can I keep them tight on the wheel wells? Answer - Add some magnets to hold them in place (cobieg) - https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...postcount=6735

Looks pretty good..but is "Dynam" Chinese for "Parkzone?"
First the Meteor/Habu....now this!

Apparently the quality is decent though.

I just got Dynams C-47 Skytrain or as they call it the Skystrain lol. Good looking kit. It goes together fast and simple. And if this Trojan is made out of EPO it should be sturdy too.

Up until a year or so ago, all of Dynams products seemed a little "off". But, they have really come around with their recent products. I bought their SR-22 plane back in December and have been impressed with it so far. Yeah, they do lack some originality, but they do have some nice touches like their flap systems.

Looks like Nitroplanes is going to start stocking the Dynam P-51 soon.

Hopefully, this the T-28 follows soon after and they offer it in an ARF version. I am surprised that they didn't offer this plane first since there are only a bajillion Mustangs out there

Doesn't look as nice and detailed as the Airfield/FMS T-28 that just got released, but I am sure it will be priced accordingly. Looks like in this video that it comes with the retracts, too

I'd say they are doing a pretty good job of it too. I have my Dynam C-47 almost complete. I just need to have cooperative weather to do my taxi tests before I close up the tail. Having totaled my Parkzone T-28 I wouldn't mind replacing it with either this Trojan or the P51, or Cessna 310. Man I'm starting to be a convert from the wonderful world of Horizon Hobby. I can't wait to fly my Airfield F-16 and Skytrain. Bring on the sunshine and clear skies I want to fly!

We just ordered our first stock of the Trojan from Dynam.. Both colors and will come with all the servos installed except the flap servo (we will supply that in the box) and the electronic Retracts installed.. All you need to add is your rx and battery.. The mustang is next..

So, the electric retracts don't come with this plane from the factory? They have to be purchased separately and installed?

I will go for the fms / airfield trojan then as it comes fully equipped.
Might be a tad more expensive but its a better looking plane anyway then the one from Dynam.
