Thanks, those are some neat designs.

Any pointers to small units with "off the shelf" hardware, e.g. using a KK controller?

I am afraid I can't help you with KK Controllers, I have a Gaui 330X S and that is the limit of my knowledge.
The link I gave you is because I have been following it myself and would really like one of those small quads but I do not have the electronics nor programming knowledge

Mine are built using much simpler methods. I have small quads using a FY90Q, GU-344, KK blue board. I also have a 2s 6.5" motor- motor using a GU344 but dont have any pics or vids up yet. here are some examples-> https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1380264

Hahaha, that is funny as hell!! I love when he hit the bush and forgot to kill the throttle and you hear the motors screaming for help.

For real, look at tony's stuff and tc3wins may still have a 9" frame for sale. Ive got one and its really nice. Heres his for sale thread : https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1436965
