Yes they are approved. The rules on the NMPRA site are not updated yet. But will be at the 1st of the year.

See the very first post of this thread on page 1. I keep the list updated.
The OS motor is on the list of approved motors.

I also keep the same list updated on the NMPRA.org site here:

There are two Turnigy motors that are listed as 3542-1250KV. Are they both allowed?

Thread OP
The D series Turnigy replaced the SK series. However, it is my understanding that samples of the D series motor have not been sent to the NMPRA for testing and approval. Any new motor must be approved. Even if it is a replacement for a discontinued motor. It is a new motor with a new part #. It must go through the approval process.

If I have stated anything here incorrectly, perhaps Danny Kane can correct me.

It looks like the SK is still available. Is it legal?

I see. Have you also checked the black SK that I linked to? Says it is the same Kv and it actually claims a higher amp rating.

I Haven't seen reply to this post. Just what is required to get a motor approved?

Thanks, Terry

Guys the approval process requires the MFG to supply equipment for testing.

The nmpra and hobby king has had discussions and in time I am sure they will have an approved motor again. Right now there is no approved solution available from hobby king.
